Can you do long exposures on the Leica T? Lets say if i wanted to take extended night exposures to get stars to trail and such.

Thank you to everyone who took part in last month's 152nd Barnack's Monthly theme, which was filled with more than 1,850 pictures, excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme. Also, thank you to everyone who helped to make it another successful month by generously posting their pictures and in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it an interesting and rewarding experience and I hope it encourages you to share more of your pictures with us! The 153rd Barnack's Monthly theme for June 2021 is: Night or low light. This month's theme is any picture that was taken at night or in low light conditions, the eerier the better. For example, it could be a moonlit evening, a white cat in a coal shed, taken in a dimly-lit bar, a partial eclipse of the sun, shot at dusk, shot at dawn, the lights of a city, a starry sky, car tail-light trails, a foggy evening, a fireworks display, a sports stadium after dark, a cloudy full-moon night, a performance at the theatre - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! It would be a big help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view. Members have asked if we'd very kindly name the camera and lens used - if you can remember - because it's interesting to know but, again, it's just helpful. The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with this month's theme in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting! It doesn't have to be your best ever shot and it's not a competition so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures, seeing others' take on the topic, and enjoying it! Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts, pictures that have been posted on the forum before, any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules of either camera or lens or both made by Leica. Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember there's no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread. So, if you'd like to show your acknowledgement or appreciation that someone has posted their picture then instead of posting a comment please use the "Thanks" button that you can find at the bottom right of every post. Please post away and I look forward to seeing your interesting interpretations of this month's theme. This is a 3-picture panorama of Horseshoe Falls from my hotel window. It is so difficult to convey the sheer majesty and raw power of this extraordinary place. The fully-grown trees to the right of the falls offer some sense of scale. Pete. M8 with 28/2.8 Elmarit-M asph v1

Last night I took a trip into the centre of the city to look at the temporary ice rink but also took the opportunity to photograph the latest city centre leisure complex consisting of 10 cinema screens and countless restaurants. The ice rink is visible as the blue area bottom left, but not the purpose of this image. I must be honest, it is probably a young persons place, and I am not a young person, but I was quite pleased with my efforts. Here is a sample image taken at 2500iso using the Leica M240 and 24mm Elmarit-M f2.8. Settings were 1/45 at f2.8 (no tripod). Thank you to everyone who took part in April's Barnack's Monthly theme, which was filled with a wonderful array of more than 300 pictures and excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme! Thank you to everyone who helped to make it another successful month by generously posting their pictures and in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it an interesting and rewarding experience and I hope it encourages you to share more of your pictures with us! The Barnack's Monthly theme for May 2017 is: "Darkness" This month's theme is "Darkness", which could be at night or in low light or a subject in the shadows where the light fears to tread. We did a similar theme four years ago and it was very popular so here's an opportunity to dust off and post those shots again or find others that you've taken in the meantime - it might even be an opportunity to re-work pictures you've taken before with all the knowledge you've gained since. "Darkness" could be a star-lit night, dusk by the Danube, a fox in the shadows behind the bins, a bear having a feast behind a dumpster, late-night party-goers straggling home, a church in the moonlight, twilight over Tuscany, dawn over Duckberg, midnight in Marseilles, the gloaming in Glasgow, nightfall in Nigeria, the gloom in Gdańsk, first light in Firenze, daybreak in Detroit, cockcrow in Córdoba, dim light in Dunedin, darkness in Dargaville, blackness in Baghdad, murkiness in Mumbai, shade in Shaolin, sunrise in Sun City, shadows in Shadowlands, aurora in Argentina, evening in El Paso, midday in winter in Reykjavik, a midnight gathering on park benches, crowds leaving the theatre, a street scene in the small hours, a darkroom, the inside of a cupboard, a car in a poorly-lit garage, a Duesenberg in night time - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! Hong Kong, october 2016 Exchange Square during the heavy rain of a typhoon of category 3. The streets were deserted then because everybody wanted to be under shelter. These situations offer a great chance of light and reflections. The camera behaved absolutely reliable. The sculpture is from Henry Moore. Even my city has one copy and so I felt at home.... Leica Q

We had three days in Berlin. After daylight was gone we admired all the glitzy Christmas illumination. The Leica Q was my only camera and it was pure pleasure to see its performance in lowlight situations. View on the Cathedral, seen from he nice embankment of the river Spree and the street decoration.

I dropped my M Monochrom onto a concrete pavement some 18 months ago, knocking the rangefinder out of alignment. I thought it would be expensive to fix and, being skint at the time, I just went back to shooting black and white film on my Leica M2 and M5. Leica have since fixed the M Monochrom, and replaced the sensor into the bargain, and they didn't charge me a penny, not even for postage. To say I'm happy with this outcome would be an understatement. But I'm glad I got back into film again. It really does have a magical quality that even the M Monochrom can't quite duplicate. Film isn't anywhere near as sharp, certainly, but that's part of the charm. There's a kind of timeless beauty in those grainy and imperfect images. Anyway, I attach a recent shot (March 2016) I took in my home city of Glasgow. It's on Ilford HP5 pushed to 800 ISO. I shot it in torrential rain, on my M2 fitted with 28mm Summicron ASPH, wide open at f2. I've used the M Monochrom very carefully in the rain, but I don't think I'd have risked it in those conditions. Best wishes all, Colin

as a starter I send this classic view from the Harbourfront of Hong Kong. A special hightlight this year is the lightshow "Symphony of lights" at 8 p.m. every day when the skyscraper do communicate with each other via lasertechnique. Leica Q, panorama stichted from 4 pictures.

We had a week there in Wroclaw (Breslau) and the weather was wet and cold even it meant tobe spring. But there is a special charmes of colour when the streets are wet and shining in the lights. The view is on the Rynek, the central place seen from a bylane. Leica Q, handheld
