There has been some interest in a new meeting in Rotterdam, NL. Previously, several years back, Jip took on the task of organising it. It's an awesome city. I has the largest harbour and that reflects in a great diversity in town; it is culturally vibrant and a hot place to visit. And the towns around Rotterdam also make great venues: Delft, Gouda, Dordrecht. The city seems keen to have photographers loitering around, looking at this year's poster from city marketing (a poster for 'De Kracht van Rotterdam', an exhibition of 12 selected photographers that each got an asignment to cover a part of the city.) Can we get a bunch of 12 leica nerds for that One day in that One city? There are no concrete plans yet. What would your interest be? What timeframe suits you? Topics of interest? One item is a walk that includes a visit to the Fotomuseum in Rotterdam. And going from down-town to the other side of the city with the vaporetta-like waterbus. The city likes to impress. It will be nice to welcome you. albert

Hi from the Netherlands! I was using Nikon d70s for 10 years along with my dear Pentax K1000 with 50mm f/1.8 lens. I was in Cuba for 3 weeks with d70s and pretty much happy with it. But the mirror sound started to bother me since it ruined quite a few moments. Also carrying it under 35℃ was not the best thing. So I started to look for other DSLRs like Canon 6D and Nikon D750. A friend of mine recommend Fuji X100T. With the addition of Fuji, it become a total mess in my mind. I read and watched almost all the reviews that I can find. This continued for a month. Then suddenly, I realised that I can look for a second hand M6 for the similar prices. I was not already very happy with the digital (I have no rush to see my photos). Its size, weight and quietness was perfect for me. I found an excellent condition black M6 and a mint condition Summarit 35mm f/2.5 on Ebay. Everything happened in just 4 hours. I knew there was something wrong with the other options (Canon, Nikon, Fuji) because I don't think on buying something that much. And the best thing was it arrived on my birthday Now I am still with the test roll (Kodak Tri-X 400). Today I will send it to a local lab for the development and scanning. I hope light meter and rangefinder works well and do not require CLA. By the way, I wonder if there is any pro lab in the Netherlands (I live in Groningen) that you guys are very happy with the quality of the results. I used HEMA service before, but I am not happy with their color process (bw is more reasonable) Thanks in advance! Oh here some photos of my M6 classic:

Hey guys, It's been a while since I have held a meeting, so I think it is time for a new one to meet up again, have talks and drinks, with a nice walk through Rotterdam. I recently moved here, and am happy to invite you guys to Rotterdam, and receive you guys at my apartment as a starting point. There isn't a real plan yet, but once I know people are interested again I will start making plans for the day. It is also possible for people to hire a hotel room through me in my building. This might be of interest for people coming from a little further. It's quite cheap at only about 70 euros per room per night. (The rooms are really nice!) (P.S. I'm not affiliated or making any money on this!) Let me know if you are interested, and send this thread to others that you think might be interested! Once we've got some people interested we will be looking for dates! Jip

Het guys Im new here.. Not so long ago i bought an m8. And belfore i had an m6 and because I love photo journalistic, deciseive moment things like that I was wondering if: I can find people who also love street photography.. And maybe go shoot with them. So if you interesting in this topic please free to write..

For your information: Got word from my dealer that my X1 has arrived.Will be picking it up tomorrow... Can't wait to shoot with it. So it seems that the X1 is arriving to the dutch dealers in greater numbers. For those wondering,i wasn't on any pre-order list.I've just placed my order a week ago and now it's already here. A word of advice,if you really wan't the camera,don't wait for it to be in stock,but just order and you will be guaranteed to get one.
