  2. Deadvlei is one of those places that you can study images of for years and kid yourself that you 'know' what you'll find when you eventually get there. But it's only when you crest the last dune on the walk-in and your jaw drops that you'll really know! M10-R BP 50mm summicron safari edition
  3. From Dune 39, Sossousvlei. M10-R BP 28mm summicron safari edition
  4. Hi Guys, While the Northern Hemisphere goes into Winter, down here in the South have Spring. Here is an image of a Day Lilly. It only flowers 1 day, then falls off. 90mm Macro-Elmar-M mounted on a NEX-5. 1/1250 Sec, f/5.6, ISO 200. Thank you for looking. All comments welcome. Andreas
  5. Hi guys, Here's an image of an Aloe plant taken yesterday in the south of Namibia. This image was made on an old C-Lux 1 - still amazes me what kind of images this little camera can take. Thanks for looking. Andreas
  6. Well, quite possible. Not here though. Climate change has made itself felt here by us in the form of severe drought and extreme temperatures. Our daytime temps have been exceeding 100F (40C) for weeks now already... Rain is a distant memory with less than half an inch since March this year. Here is what is left of the garden. I have also included an image of the thermometer to show our daily temp range. This was taken earlier today. We'll still get to 111F (44C) today. Thanks for looking... Andreas M8 / 90mm Macro-Elmar
  7. Himba in Namibia M8, 90mm, 1:2 Ausschnittsvergrößerung

  12. Hi Guys, We had one of our big social events here in Windhoek today. The annual Windhoek Carnival Procession ("Umzug" in German). Being a former German Colony, we still hold a huge amount of German traditions and customs very high. As Namibians we are proud of our heritage and it is one of the very few countries in Africa, if not the world, where people of all races live together in peace and harmony, where there is respect for each other and understanding. We are after all Namibians Enjoy the series, thank you for looking and taking the time to see more of our country. All comments welcome. Andreas M8, 50mm Summicron, Full Manual exposure set to 1/1500 Sec, f/5.6, ISO 160.

Andreas Oh WOW - Just noticed this is my 800th Post. Probably bored you guys with most of them
  15. Hi Guys, Went for a walk around Avis dam, here in Windhoek, this morning. Hi Guys, These used to be the water purification works at the Avis Dam in Windhoek, Namibia. This dam was built in the late 1920's to supply water to the city. Over the years the dam has been replaced with more reliable water sources and has become a family favorite to spend sometime going for a walk or to do some fishing. #1 M8, 50mm Cron, f/5.6, 1/2000 Sec, ISO 160 #2 M8, 50mm Cron, f/2.0, 1/6000 Sec, ISO 160 Thanks for looking, all comments welcome. Andreas
