While frustrated that Leica never updated the Q manual for release 2.0 of the firmware, it has forced all of us to dig deep and find the "hidden" features and new ways to accomplish old tasks. In teaching my grandson how to think before hitting the shutter button, it dawned on me that manuals are NOT user guides. Should I write and self-publish a Q User's Guide? What areas of the Q and its magnificence should I cover? Would Leica let me use their artwork for the camera components? What format book files do you prefer (PDF, iBooks, Kindle?) If you learned something, would you buy one? This might be fun. If it is popular, maybe I'll buy the M10 with 35 Summilux and write it off on taxes while writing the User's Guide! -
I love my D2, but unfortunately I found a problem in Digilux 2 manual focus @ infinity. Basically manual focus @ infinity will not focus on infinity at all. Here is my test: [1] Put camera on tripod, set aperture @ F2, set zoom @ 28 mm, and set focus distance at infinity. I took a picture, and I found both foreground and background are blur, and I don't even know where is the focus. [2] Set focus @ AF, point to infinity, and took second picture when AF indicate light is green. this picture is very sharp, both background and foreground, which is expected. It looks like this problem only occur at bigger aperture (F2, F2.8, F4), when I use F5.6 and F8, manual focus @ infinity seems work fine, I got sharp image. I think this issue will make manual "zone focus" difficult. I am not sure if this happened to me, or someone else also experienced the same issue? thanks a lot!!

OK a preface it is probably me doing something wrong. Here is the problem I set the camera to manual, inside ring/button (setting wheel?). But my shutter speed won't change, stuck at 1/250, the start guide says it should be the inside (left) wheel. What am I missing? I am using manual M lenses with the M adapter. Thanks Tom

Cleaning out a drawer, I find a perfect Notice D' Utilisation - User Manual in French for the Fuji built Digilux Zoom. Free to the first person to reply privately with their address. International OK. I'd rather sent it to someone than pitch it in the bin. Sorry, only one copy, no other documentation. I have to report the camera died long ago and was sold. I've been using an M6TTL for a while now. I got the chance to acquire an R3 Mot + 3 lenses at a good price but found them to be a bit lumpy compared to the M6TTL so I've just traded the R gear for an M4-P in really nice condition. Okay, it hasn't got a meter but a combination of sunny16 and using my Minolta Auto Meter IVf in tricky conditions will get me through. I love the feel of the M4-P and the fact that no batteries are required. Anyone else here have one? Any stuff to watch out for?
