Not sure if this has been asked before. I was wondering if there's a way to use Focus Aid magnification when shooting Manual mode on the T. I noticed there are two menus with 'F' and 'S' on the screen with Manual mode. 'S' with the right knob on the camera seems to adjust Shutter speed. I wasn't sure what 'F' program stands for since it doesn't do anything when I turn the left knob. I assumed 'F' is the f stop or aperture setting? I'm using M lens via M-adapter T and the aperture could be adjusted manually on the lens. Is there a way to program the 'F' (left) menu to be using Focus Aid instead like how it works with Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority Mode on the camera? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! I got the T for a few weeks now and have been enjoying the camera so far. This is also my first time to use manual lens on a digital camera. Still learning the best practice to quickly do accurate manual focus on this camera. I don't own an EVF. Is it worth it to get one? I only own M lenses and none of the T's so far. I would love to get as much accurate focus as possible when doing street photography.

I noticed that my images when using for example 1/50 shutterspeed with a 50mm Noctilux or even a 50 Summilux result in not the sharpest results. Something which I never encountered with the M series and with Sony A7II (image stabilisation in camera). Now I tend to shoot my SL with a minimum shutter speed of 1/80. Which result in very sharp files... What are your experiences with SL and manual focus M lenses and the shutterspeed? Any best practices or tips are welcome!

Early this morning just after the sun had risen, I attempted to take some travel photos and thought I'd been successful only to learn tonight that everything I took was out of focus. I had previously been using manual focus and forgot to switch it back to Auto. Normally I would have caught this quickly, but this morning with the sun shining very brightly and often directly into my eyes, I failed to notice the error. I am posting this as an opportunity for others to learn from my own dumb mistake. Part of the issue was the rear LCD was totally unusable in the bright light. When using the EVF, I expected to see the focus rectangle in the middle of the screen, but when I did not, I assumed it was there, but the bright light was masking it. I now understand that when in manual focus there is no rectangle at all. Makes sense when you think about it. So, I wasn't seeing any rectangle red or green color because I was in manual mode. Don't be a dummy like me. I make so many mistakes with cameras and I do my very best to learn from them, but it does seem it's the nature of the beast somewhat. Here''s what would have been a decent shot OOF. Ugh!

I have just bought a new Q2M and it distracts me to see the af bracket when I focus in manual mode. Is there a way to completely hide the AF bracket ? It should not be visible in manual focus mode, I can move the bracket around at that's it, but I cannot disable it and hide it, this is driving me crazy. -

Hello, please have a look at these two birding images taken at the beach: 1) An example of "action wildlife photography";) ('follow focus tracking', manually): This sandwich tern / Brandseeschwalbe (Sterna sandvicensis) had lost its prey (a sand eel) in the air, and "stopped" immediately to avoid flying past it. A tenth of a second later, the bird had snapped the fish again. http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-...crop_luf-b.jpg (please click the link) 2) The turnstones / Steinwälzer (Arenaria interpres) below, a juvenile and an adult, performed a dance at the beach. Both images taken 'hand held' with the sliding-focus Telyt 400/6,8 (at 8), Visoflex2/3, M8, shoulder stock (14188 v.1), and a good strap (14130), both images cropped (distance at least 25 meters in first example, around 4 meters in second example). I wear glasses (and need them on all the time) and find manual focus frustrating. I am slow and never confident that I have my shots perfectly focused. Are there any aids to focusing for the M8, such as different focusing screens or magnifiers to highlight the split image? I use my M8 for travel and street photography.
