Probably already answered many times. Sorry for the repeat. Does anyone know whom to contact at Apple in regard to getting the D-Lux 7's raw files recognized in MacOS High Sierra? (2011 computer; High Sierra is latest compatible OS.) Apple says to contact Leica because the camera files may not be compatible with the OS. That doesn't ring true to me... Or would it be best just to forget about it? Thanks!

How to prevent Photos from launching on Mac OS when inserting an SD card

With my M I used Image Capture to set the default app to launch for my SD cards. I had to do this only once per card and the system would remember not to launch Photos but Lightroom. With the SL this is no longer feasible since the camera's formatting algorithm seems to be more aggressive -- after formatting the card in the camera the card switches back to the default behavior. I have found this little terminal command to disable app launch on SD card insertion completely: defaults -currentHost write com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug -bool YES While this doesn't allow me to pick a different app to launch I at least don't have to keep quitting Photos. This has worked for me on OS X 10.11.16. Use at your own risk! -
Hallo zusammen, wenn ich von meiner D-Lux 4 eine RAW Datei in Lightroom "als DNG" importiere, dort bearbeite und dann als DNG exportiere um sie z. B. einem Kollegen weiter zu geben, habe ich im Finder kein Vorschaubild mehr und Vorschau kann die Datei auch nicht mehr öffnen. Gibt es hier für eine Erklärung/ Lösung? Ach so, bei anderen Kameras ist das nicht so. Danke und Gruß Roman

Meinen Pradovit PC würde ich gerne mit einem Mac steuern, die mitgelieferte Software ist jedoch nur für Windows. Hat einer der Forumsteilnehmer Erfahrungen damit? Welche zusätzliche Hardware und Software benötige ich? Würde mich über Hinweise und Tips sehr freuen. Jonsi.

Hallo, habe eine neue V-Lux 2 und bin ganz begeistert. Nur eine Sache nervt mich sehr: Mit der C-Lux werden alle Filme einfach in iPhoto geladen wie Fotos auch und lassen sich ganz einfach per Klick abspielen und ganz unkompliziert weiterliefern. Sicher ist iMovie deutlich besser, hatte nur bis jetzt nicht die Zeit, mich mit dem Programm anzufreunden, hole ich aber sicher bei zeiten nach. Weiß jemand, wie bzw. welches Format für Video/Filmen an der Kamera eingestellt werden muss, dass das so unkompliziert mit iPhoto auch bei der V-Lux klappt genaso wie bei der kleinen C-Lux? On your Mac, go to Software Update and download the latest patches. The App store is included in the 10.6.6 patch (am assuming in a 10.5.x patch too). Computer will restart. New icon on Dashboard and in the Apple menu for the App Store. Hoping interesting features start to appear for say Aperture.

Just got set up with my new X1 and very excited. I am an existing Aperture user but also took advantage to download the free edition of Adobe Lightroom courtesy of the kind folks at Leica. Just wondering what people's views are in terms of which is the preferred software for working with the X1's RAW images? Should I stick with Aperture or switch to Lightroom?

I just installed Mac OSX update 10.6.5 and now I can open LX5 .RW2 files directly in Aperture and all other Mac apps that use the Apple system RAW decoder. I bet these same apps will now open D-Lux5 RAW files as well.

Über die Tage mit der Visoflex rumgefummelt und ein paar alte Negative abfotografiert. Dann nach dem "Invertieren" Befehl in Apperture gesucht und festgestellt, daß es ihn nicht gibt. Ich hätte einfach eine Bildbearbeitung nehmen können, doch da ich alles in Aperture mache, durchweg störrisch bin und auch noch genug Zeit hatte… Kurz: es gibt eine versteckte Möglichkeit. Es ist ein Quartz-Filter (System-Komponente). Lustigerweise ist dieser *nicht* über die Colour-Sync Filter abrufbar. Mein Weg ist ein Automator Workflow: 1. Neuer Workflow als Dienst 2. "Dienst" empfängt *keine Eingabe* in *Aperture*" 3. Ausgewählte Bilder anfordern (Kategorie "Fotos", Programm Aperture) 4. Quartz Komposition Filter anwenden (aus Kategorie "Fotos"): Bild invertieren 5. Fotos importieren (Kategorie "Fotos", Programm Aperture) Der Workflow ist erreichbar unter: Aperture->Dienste. Er exportiert ausgewählte Bilder, invertiert diese und importiert sie zurück. Leider ist der Filter nicht aus Aperture selbst anzuwählen - das vielleicht ab Version 3.0.

Knowing that many (most?) of you are Mac users and I'm about to renew all my computers, and considering the big change from Windows to Mac, I wonder if you have any advice on the following issue? My research into the latest Mac options has led me to discover that quite a few people have reservations about Snow Leopard as an upgrade to the previous OS. Is this something that should concern me, especially as Windows 7 is coming onstream to many favourable reviews? It would be a very considerable investment in hard and software especially compared to buying new Windows machines and a hard decision to make. I'm not really interesting in starting yet another Mac v. MS thread, but in opinions about Snow Leopard. Thanks for any reasonably objective opinions. Tim
