  5. I've been quite impressed with the 35/1.4 (Version IV) and the collapsable 50/2 (Version I). What are your favorite smallest and most versatile Leica M lenses?
  6. Dear all, I just received the CL I have ordered with the 18mm and M-adapter L. I was surprised to read in the M adapter L documents, that the lens list was short : no mention of the possibility to use the Summilux 75, Elmar 50, Elmar 135 (last version before 135/3.4) Can you confirm those lenses are useable on the CL + adapter ? and why did Leica not mention them as a possibilty ? thanks for your answers ! Didier
  7. Dear all, Has anyone some real world experience using the CL + noctilux ? (handling, focusing, ...) Thanks Didier
  8. - I cannot get "S" mode with M lens, I have only M and A mode. Effectively, I have to go to M mode to change shutter speed. "A" mode is useless, as I can only change exposure compensation. - Also, last zoom location does not get stored, it defaults to centre. With SL lenses, last zoom location is stored. Anybody facing these two issues? Any suggestions?
  9. Hey guys, The 35 Summicron ASPH ii was updated last year to improve the mechanical design as well as resolving power. While it may not be noticeable on the current 24MP sensors it does offer a greater degree of clarity on the bigger 42 megapixel Sony sensor and when when printed to large sizes. This would indicate that, sometime down the road, Leica will inevitably move to larger MP sensors. In this respect, I was wondering if anyone knew what the resolving power of the Summilux 35 ASPH FLE was? Would be interesting to know, especially considering that it came out in 2011. Regards
  10. I like sunstars. If you also like them then go ahead and share. Some lenses do produce good sunstars and some don't. Let us see what other get... I will start with the following using my 28 cron ASPH. The internal reflection in the UV filter has messed up the perfect star. After that I have stopped using filters. I did clean up the star later in PP but here it is as came out of the camera.
  11. Hello, I used a 90 mm f2 apo with Leica M adapter on the SL. Manual focus point defaults to the centre after every shot. Is this normal for this combo of lens + SL? I find it rather bothersome to move the focus point to the area (eyes) I need after framing the shot. If I focus first and then frame the shot, I will surely have soft images at f2. Anything I am doing wrong? Any suggestions? Thanks.
  12. Hi All, Is it possible to have direct access to exposure compensation (via rear click wheel) on a Leica SL when it is in Auto-ISO and in Manual mode with an M lens? I have the 2.1 firmware installed, and best I can figure out is that I need to press any one of the configurable buttons to bring up the exposure compensation dialog, and only then I can use the back click wheel to do the exposure compensation. For speedy operation I would like to go directly to the rear click wheel. Anyone know a way? I'm guessing the two-press way is designed to prevent accidentally changing the exposure compensation, but sometimes one needs a fast way to adjust the exposure and besides I find the click wheel is rather well protected from accidental shifting. When in auto-ISO, in manual mode and with an M lens it would seem the rear click wheel is neutralized? Thanks for any advice... NaHar
