2. I have a leica I rebuild to II in the factory, my problem is it is missing the 2 small rangefinder rings on the front side can some one help me to find 2 spares thanks romain
3. To begin with I would like to say that this camera is a trophy of World War II and totally original from the moment when my family started use it. So, I have some questions to "Leica specialists" on this forum: 1) Why is the number "№8012", as I know, from Leica IA? 2) As I heard the body of the camera is simillar to II(D), but has lugs for strap from Leica III? 3) Due to my analysis it has Elmar 50mm f/3.5 lens without any marks of Serial Number or stuff like that. So it means that it was made in 1930 or earlier. 4) ??? 5) HELP! And some photo: PHOTO_0252 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! PHOTO_0251 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! PHOTO_0250 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! 4. Sandhill Cranes Leica II, Hektor 135/4.5, Fujicolor 200, 1/100 @f/5.6, VCII meter, handheld, harsh noonday sun, drugstore develop and scan to CD, light smart sharpen in CS4.
5. I recently acquired a Leica II screw mount camera with a collapsible Leitz Elmar 50mm f/3,5 lens. The 81587 serial number on the camera body seems to date it to 1932. But I am really curious about the lens. The rotating barrel with the depth of field markings has a three digit serial number… “420” – not the six-digit number that seems to have started around 1933. There is no “o” engraved near the lens focus lever although there is an “o” engraved in the 12 o’clock position of the lens mount on the camera. I assume that this is the original lens that came with the camera. My questions are: 1) When was this Elmar lens made? 2) Was it designed to specifically match my Leica II camera body? 3) Will it work correctly on other Leica screw mount cameras? Thanks for any information you can provide.
7. Just idle curiosity - is the original Leica II the smallest full-frame 35mm camera with a genuine lens-actuated coincident-image rangefinder? David
