1. I wanted to something to be added to my leaf collection. Our locl otanical Garden has a few Japanese maple trees. My Summicron R 50 mm is new, so why not try its capacity. I am afraid the loss of details due to compression can be seen ( ) but still have a look.
2. during my daily break I usually walk along a long planetree alley. Before I start to work I take a look at the weather when it is promising I take my X1. At noon there was still hoarfrost on the lawn and so I spent some 30 minutes focussing on leaves, partly with achromat lens.
3. under a big maple tree there unfold a whole cosmos of fallen leaves with spots, holes ect in every state of decay. all with Canon 5D MKII and R summicron 50mm + achromat lens. I had only a monopod and tried to focus with magnifying function with live-view. It was a bit tricky since it was windy but a few are sharp enough. (Due to compression it looks a bit weak though)
4. a sideglance is always worthwhile. Along the trail in a sunlit forrest I got these with the Canon 5D MKII and R-lens Elmarit 60 mm + APO Extender 2x. Enjoy the last sunrays of the autumnal season
5. the forrest was illuminated by a nice morning light. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit 60mm+APO R 2x Extender. You can choose between the colour version and the B&W version.
6. Last weekend there was much fog and the right weather to get some impressions of the strange forrest atmosphere. I am afraid the scaled down size is not showing as much details a it should but you can have a look. all with Canon 5D MKii and Elmarit R 60mm + APO Converter 2x
7. this house I found in our city - taking out my X1 and its 2 achromats for a walk. the season of fall colors now started and each day one can find something else in different light.
8. When roaming through the quiet morning beech tree forest oen could only hear a slight breeze and the sound of falling leaves. How to frame this? A few sunrays fell on the beech tree and I waited for a light gush of wind. High ISO was nececssary to get the leaves sharp with a shutterspeed of 1/250. An experiment of of several shots was neccessary, but time for this was limited because of fading light. Thanks for looking
9. Some images from a rainy/cloudy day walk with the Leica X2 (and closeup filters where appropriate)
