  1. I've noticed when using exposure compensation with the M10, often when i review photograph I've just taken on the screen, the exposure compensation information reads back incorrectly. If set at zero compensation (doesn't matter if it's set via the menu or with the thumb wheel), the screen will show it correctly. If I set the exposure compensation to -0.3 or -0.7 (or +0.3, etc.), it will occasionally read correctly when I review the image, but most often it shows up on the screen as -3.0. Is anyone else experiencing this oddness? I am using the latest firmware, fwiw. I have searched the forum for any notes on this, but if I have missed something from others about this issue, apologies in advance. -kim
  2. Bought used M8.2 which worked fine for few months, then one day could not zoom in and out of images on camera. Wheel spins but does not do anything. Anyone have this happen??
  3. Hi folks, like many here I'm lusting for an M9-P and considered buying one new or having my M9 upgraded. Until I noticed that the screen upgrade is just sapphire glass, not a better screen. My mother's Canon S90 has a better screen (and better interaction design) than my M9. Since you know a lot more about Leica than me, I'd like to ask: when can we expect a digital M with a 920' dot screen (or better)? In 2013–2014 with the M10 or in 2012 with a M9-P2? is there a rational explanation for today's sub-standard screen? Are the proportions or the size strange? Are all the great VGA-or-better camera screens 3" or larger? Is the current 2.5" screen the best that could be sourced or merely a cost saver for Leica? is there a mismatch between the size of the M9's raw files and the throughput of the M9's graphics chip? Is the camera body too small to host a sufficiently powerful image processor or is it a matter of writing faster firmware? Thanks!
  4. Hi I have spent quite some time in the darkroom recently to print photographs I have taken from my Asia/India trip. The image selection I do based on contact copies of the negatives. What I realized when I reviewed the contacts with friends is that picture selection is a very personal, subjective matter and may differ greatly between individuals. Having a target of 2 to 4 good shots per roll of film (which I do not always achieve), I realized that other people would choose different pictures than I from the same role. It makes me think that the image selection process has a substantial meaning and determines the final outcome more than I was aware of. Also, I realized there is a huge learning process behind it, selecting the good shots is not easy at all. Thoughts, experiences welcome. Regards NdV
