  1. I did a 1,600 mile (2,500km for our metric friends) loop a few months back starting from Nevada to Arizona to Utah and then back to Nevada. I have done similar ones before but they were much shorter. This trip was much longer and I got to appreciate the vastness and stunning beauty of this part of the USA. My R lenses came in handy attached to a Sony A7 & A7ii. The latter was very handy with sensor stabilization allowing me to handhold the 180 APO Elmarit cropped in APS-C mode (in camera) so 270MM effective. Enough words, here are the pictures. 1. Very windy and small snowflakes if you look carefully. Grand Canyon, South Rim, Arizona by brownxy, on Flickr 2. I got caught in a terrible rainstorm near the summit of this ~ 9 mile roundtrip hike at Zion National Park. Observation Point, Zion National Park- UTAH7-2 by brownxy, on Flickr 3. Bryce Canyon, early morning. This place is the closest thing to a fairyland that I have seen. Bryce Canyon, UTAH by brownxy, on Flickr 4. Valley of fire was as beautiful as always. Valley of Fire, Nevada by brownxy, on Flickr 5. R 28-90 was very useful on this trip. Bryce Canyon. I felt like Alice in Wonderland. Bryce Canyon, UTAH by brownxy, on Flickr 6. My earlier visits to Grand Canyon were when the weather was clear. This time it was cloudy and windy and even more enchanting. Grand Canyon, Arizona by brownxy, on Flickr 7. Entering UTAH. I must say that the highways are very good. Looking back at Monument Valley, Utah by brownxy, on Flickr 8. A "lucky" shot. It was cloudy and my guide and I gave almost gave up getting the sunrise. Then the weather gods relented and the sun came our for a very brief interval. You can visit this part of the monument only with a native Indian guide who own rights to the land. Monument Valley, Arizona by brownxy, on Flickr
  2. These are the first pictures from our visit in April to the Great Canyon. I am still busy processing the other half of my 2.000 shots from NYC,Las Vegas,Grand Canyon and Valley of Fire. I will post more if you like. My MKII was mounted mostly with Elmarit 60mm+2xApo Converter, the X1 had also a very busy time. The MKII was tweaked down to 50 ISO, polarizer and tripod (for the early morning and evening shots.) The shots were all taken from the Rimtrail. MKII with Telyt 250 mm - 7:00 a.m. Mathar Point MKII with Telyt 250 mm 7:15 a.m, Mathar Point X1, morning 11:00 a.m. MK 60 mm+2x Apo Concerter, 18:30 Hopi Point X1 11:00
