  1. Dear All, I am looking to buy a grip/handle for the 2.8/280mm APO Telyt lens handle which my lens lacks. Would anyone know where one would be for sale without the lens? This grip/handle for the 2.8/280mm APO Telyt Lens which is no longer available from Leica in Germany. And they do not plan another production of it. It was catalog Part# 14632 Thanks! Harry
  2. If anyone is looking for a low shutter count M8 in excellent condition, the sensor just cleaned and inspected by Leica Mayfair, please consider mine.
  3. Hello all, this is my first post! Recently I got a deal at my local camera store on a chrome Summi 35/2 v1. They were rather ignorant of the value of the lens, and I didn't pay too much for it. However, after looking up the going rate for these lenses online, I realized that I could sell this lens and turn a profit to buy some other equipment. It's not in mint condition - there are some extremely faint scratches on the rear element only visible in harsh direct light (invisible in normal lighting conditions). The chassis has a few minor scratches too, but nothing visible unless you're looking really close. There's no haze, but there is some minor dust (also invisible in normal light), and the focusing is the slightest bit stiffer close to infinity (hardly noticeable). Nothing that ought to influence IQ. Infinity lock works. Yet while this isn't in pristine collector's condition, it does fetch a few premiums - it was made in Germany as opposed to Canada, doesn't have the M3 goggles, includes the original filter and hood, and has a convertible flange/mount. The convertible mount is something I just figured out today; the lens was apparently factory-fitted with an LTM>M adapter via a set-screw. But you can unscrew it, and volia, it's LTM. Rather strange, but these were evidently in production concurrently with the normal M-mount versions. Thanks
  4. With the (hopefully) imminent arrival of the M 240 I would have expected to see an increase of M9's and M9-P's hitting the 'used equipment' market. This does not really seem to have happened. Is this because people are not trading up or are they keeping their original gear and adding to it. I realise not everyone will trade their M9's etc. to the M but I thought there would be more movement than there is. I personally think that getting the right price will be tough. I still have my M9-P which I will trade in for my M (when it eventually arrives). Dealer will not give me a price yet but seems to think that £3000 would be erring on high? Seems very low to me. Wouldn't mind some of your thoughts. Lee
  5. Hello everyone. My father recently gave me a number of older cameras and ask me to sell them and donate a portion of the money to his favorite charity. One of the cameras I reiceved is a Leici DRP Serial Number 529079. It has some slight damage to the front lense (dented metal) but i have a zoom lense for it as well that is not a leica brand but is pristine condition. Besides the damage to the original lense...the unit is in pretty great condition without any other signs of damage or noticable wear. It comes in a leather case and came with a Leica Light meter which is in excellent condition. Before I put this on the market I wanted to understand this item a little more. The info I found at Cameraquest tells me that it is a 1950/51 IIIf. Do you think that I might be able to ask $175 for a unit like this. Would craigslist be a good place? How about any forums that might be good to offer this on? Here are some pictures. leica22.jpg picture by morrisnphoenix - Photobucket leica23.jpg picture by morrisnphoenix - Photobucket leica24.jpg picture by morrisnphoenix - Photobucket leica2.jpg picture by morrisnphoenix - Photobucket Thanks for your input and help
