In Puerto Rico, as with many places some of the best and simplest food is sold on the roadside from trucks, carts our just under a tent. Everyone has their preference... this cart sells smoked chicken, ribs, and a cut of pork known as Kan-Kan... wonderful with a ring of carbonized fat around the side. Also sold are refreshments and batata... like a sweet potato. The food is taken away or eaten (best with friends) in the shade on the roadside. This is a shot of one of my favorites. We went back (me and Rodrigue, XVarior) to these souks, a few months after around two years of heavy clashes and fighting in the area, luckily the souks are back to normal and the merchants were very welcoming. Nuts Regards, Edgard

This is the first time I am using a Leica to shoot food. Coming from the SLR world with relatively close minimum close focusing even for short focal lengths ; I thought the 0.7m minimum focus would be a challenge, but turns out it can actually produce pretty interesting pictures as well, especially when bokeh is involved. Photographed at Westfield, London with Leica M8, 35 cron ASPH.
