  1. Those M3s look like they are going on a Christmas Tree. Ultra rare promotional photo of ELCAN, Midland (ON) from 1955.
  2. When an Elcan 52mm f5.6 lens with beautiful glass came up for sale locally, I couldn't resist. According to the previous owner, it was part of a Leitz document copy system (which he still has). i've also read in Wiki that the 52mm lens is an enlarging lens. Nice puzzle. There are currently ads on Ebay showing other Elcan lenses adapted to LTM and NEX, but no details are available. In order to try it, i'll have to find a way to adapt the 53mm (?) rear thread mount to something (Nikon, Leica R, Sony Nex) which will mount on an A7R. Has anyone here heard of an adapter of any sort for this lens? The rear of the lens needs to be about 35mm from the front flange of an A7R in order to focus to infinity. Greetings from Hamburg Rick

  4. https://www.leitz-auction.com/auction/en/auktion34/auction42/article/424.html Couldn't find any more details online, i guess the Navy used this with an M4?
  5. Hi, I'm a professional photographer with a penchant for vintage rangefinders. A few years ago, I bought a lot of photo equipment at an electronics recycler. In it were several pieces of ultra high-end equipment, including some Nikon RF tele lenses, making it an absolute score. However, there is one piece that still to this day baffles me. At first, it appeared to be the rear group of elements for a large format lens. However, I have never been able to find a single piece of information regarding this piece of equipment. It is labeled as "ELCAN f/9.5 170mm Leitz Canada 090-0104" with "Lens Made In Canada" in smaller print. I don't know whether this is a scientific lens, part of a large format lens, or some other special-application piece, so ANY information would be VERY greatly appreciated. Since I don't have any idea what the lens is for, I obviously do not have a use for it, so I would like to sell it, and would like to have as much information as possible. Thanks in advance!
