  1. I picked up a Leica SF24D flash recently to use with my M6TTL. I was thinking about testing it with my Canon EOS R dslr and using its screen to get familiar with the flash without wasting film (I don’t mind if it will only work using Manual mode on the flash). I think I remember hearing years ago something about TTL flashes not pairing well with some newer “more-electronic” cameras’ hot shoes and possibly frying the camera’s electronics — though my memory’s extremely foggy on that. Does anyone have any experience using the SF24D on a dslr of any make/model and/or on any digital Leica body? Would covering the flash’s 3 “TTL connector pins” on its hot shoe with electrical tape (while leaving the main center pin uncovered) be necessary or safer? Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question.

    negative.supply

Are there more established brands out there of DSLR - film scanning equipment? negative.supply the name of this website and of the company I heard yesterday for the first time. I find some of the articles on offer interesting, but I wish the descriptions of each item and of the combinations was more detailed. Any experience with other similar products?
MfG. Chen
  5. Guys I've just ordered an M9-P and a 35 Lux ASPH. I have been using my 5D MKII with a 17-40, 24-70 and 70-200 f/2.8 for a long time. I have taken great photos.. and I have taken some amazing videos. What is the warranty on lenses and body? Is the Leica warranty different in each country? I'm buying it in Asia. Its international warranty right? What are the yearly services to be done to keep my Leica in optimum condition? How much would it cost? Is it really difficult for people (SLR users) to get used to knowing the focus distance, or focusing through the RF viewfinder? I've always been good at guessing distance, I even did a 3 hr shoot in a Club (in the dark) and constantly manually adjusting the distance I was shooting. Would this be an advantage on my Leica journey? Would I be able to be enjoy my Leica completely? Or would I be missing my 5D soon and wishing I hadn't spent all my money on Leica and go back to my Canon (I don't do auto focus much and worked mostly in manual) I know the pros of Leica's size & weight against a DSLR. Please tell me other objective things to make me happy on the move. Without an extra handgrip or other accessories, is it possible to hold the M9 for long hours while walking through a city just by wrapping the strap around your right hand and thus loosely gripping the M9-P body? Can 'dropping' the camera on the table (like when you misjudge the height of the surface) by 2 inches damage the camera. Is the 35 Lux and M9P strong to take a soft beating? Or are they all fragile? Does mis-calibration on the M9 happen due to extreme use and how do you notice it? A lot of questions, but I feel like if I ask them in one rapid-fire round, I'd save you the hassle of writing in a million times. Cheers J : )
(.....NIACHT:p)? Mann ist das alles verrueckt hier !!! Danke!
  7. laut BJP: Photokina 2012: Hasselblad to launch mirrorless compact camera and full-frame digital SLR [update] - British Journal of Photography Und mit Verlaub, selbst bei meiner Verbundenheit mit Hasselblad: bei der NEX über Geschmack lässt sich trefflich streiten....
  8. Hello all I have switched to shooting wedding almost exclusively with film. I say almost, because there are times when I do use my D200. These are generally for the family shots at the ceremony and also times when I want a bit of fill flash. I am usually in the vicinity of about 28mm up to 50mm in my focal lengths on the D200 (equiv). I have not had the opportunity to handle the D-Lux 4, and viewing images on a screen is one thing, but the quality of prints is really my main concern. I find it a burden to carry a second camera system with lenses and a huge slr body, in addition to my 3x m's all with attached lenses. I am toying with the idea of switching out the d200 and going for the d-lux 4 with a viewfinder on top to compliment the m's. How will the image stack up against my D200? Has anyone had experience with the a similar type of dslr to compare to the d-lux? I am not looking to improve on iq, i find the d200 does a great job for what I want. Thanks in advance for any help. Tom
