Hi guys, 2 quick questions pls: 1. Anyone using the foil/plastic screen protector on the LCD? I had one thrown in with my purchase. Not read anywhere what the cover of the LCD is made from so trying to figure out if necessary. 2. Anyone figured out what the finish is on the SL? Paint or black chrome? Thanks John

Hi, I was wondering, is it possible to diy repaint the serial numbers? I have a chrome M3 but there was some black paint missing at the Leica logo and other parts. What is the best way to repaint it? I thought maybe use a fine permanent marker and follow the inscription? Ideas? Thanks

Hi, I have searched the forum for information on the V2 Summilux 50 that was sold with the M6 Traveler Series set. I have read elsewhere the lenses started with the serial numbers 34952xx, but I wondered if anyone here might know just what the first serial number was for this series. 3495200 perhaps? This is the chrome-plated brass 50/1.4 with the ridged, not knurled, focusing ring, and with external hood 12586. Thank you for any information you are willing to provide. -k

I sold my CV 21mm f/1.8 and bought a chrome 21mm f/3.4 super angulon for about $700 today. Much smaller lens that focuses a bit closer. It's got some moderate haze in it but i'm pretty confident in my ability to take it apart and clean it. Before I do, though, I was wondering if anyone has done this and if it's similar to the older f/4 version or the 35mm f/3.5 Summaron-M, both of which I have successfully taken apart and cleaned in the past.
