My Capture One version is designed for Windows 2000 / XP and is not supported by Windows 7. Is this just "sorry, bad luck" or does anybody know a work around? Ahoi.

I just bought a used M8 without the Capture 1 software. My question is - do I actually need it or does after market software such as Lightroom, PS Elements etc do the trick? Can anyone recommend any other good software for processing images? I mainly convert to b&w..thanks

Hello, I just bought the D-lux 4 and did the first shots in .jpg and .rwl. As I aleady have capture one bought with my M8 I thought I could use the (already installed version) on my MAC. However, on opening C1 only recognises the jpeg but not the raw pictures. Do I need to install the C1 version which came with the D-lux and will that support also the DNG files from the M8 ? I hope I do not have to run both versions ... ;-) By the way : I use a 1GB SD card and the camera just allows around 55 shots (jpeg and rwl). Have you experienced anything like that before ? does not sound too much to me ... Many thanks for your support !

I need help, I am so confused. I am not a techy photographer by any means so if anyone can help answer my questions in the simplest terms, that would be great! I just purchased the D-LUX 4 and i had no idea the files would not be RAW format. I always convert from RAW to TIFF in Adobe CS2. i have 2 questions - can i convert a RWL to a TIFF in Adobe CS2? If not, then i have to use the Capture 1 the camera came with, right? I can't for the life of me figure out how to take my RWL files and turn them into TIFFS. Thanks for any tips and advice! Jenny

Not sure whether to post here or M8 Forum, or both. Administrator advice? As we all know, the M8 RAW/DNG files are saved in 8-bit form using an algorithm. When opening an M8 file in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR), the files are default saved as 8-bit. Converting M8 files in Capture One (C1), they can be saved as full 16-bit TIFF. Is it possible to change the ACR default to save files in 16-bit?
