  1. an early october morning walk in a local beech forest. One can walk along a brook and roaming freely wherever one likes. Thanks for crossing the bridges. 3. Hi everyone - first post here. I live on the doorstep of the 2012 Olympics construction site which makes for some interesting photo ops. This one was taken earlier in the year on the morning when the bridge in the foreground had it's final push across the 'live' Tube lines at Stratford station. The bridge when complete will be a permanent link to Stratford City in 2011 (in development beyond the bridge) and the newly opened Stratford International station. In the background (left) and under construction is the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre. I'd be glad of your feedback. On a technical level I've struggled to save the image larger than 146kB for some reason even though I uploaded a larger file - any ideas? Cheers now.....
  4. Thank you to everyone who took part in last month's 153rd Barnack's Monthly theme, which was filled with nearly 1,300 pictures, excellent ideas and interpretations of the theme. Also, thank you to everyone who helped to make it another successful month by generously posting their pictures and in particular to those people who posted for the first time - I hope you found it an interesting and rewarding experience and I hope it encourages you to share more of your pictures with us! The 154th Barnack's Monthly theme for July 2021 is: Bridge This month's theme is any picture that contains a bridge or part of a bridge or the word "bridge" on its own or as part of another word. (No cheating by claiming a picture was taken from a bridge but there's no bridge in the picture please!😊) For example, it could be the Bridge of Sighs, a drawbridge, a game of Contract Bridge, a rope bridge, a railway bridge, a viaduct, an aqueduct, a dental bridge, Waterloo bridge, Tyne Bridge, Strawbridge Furniture premises, Whaley Bridge Football Club, Stamford Bridge football ground, the Battle of Stamford Bridge, a swing bridge, a suspension bridge, Bridgend, the Bridge over the River Kwai, Dublin's Boroughbridge district, a box girder bridge, an arch bridge, Battersea Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Tower Bridge, Tonbridge in Kent, a rest bridge in snooker, the bridge of an ocean liner, a nasal bridge, a cello's bridge, a Wheatstone Bridge for balancing electrical circuit resistance, The Bridges of Maddison County, Bridgetown in Barbados - it's entirely your choice so let your imagination run free! It would be a big help if you give your picture a title so to help us understand your point of view. Members have asked if we'd very kindly name the camera and lens used - if you can remember - because it's interesting to know but, again, it's just helpful. The rules are deliberately loose so go out and shoot with this month's theme in mind or start searching back through those pictures you took oh-so long ago that you'd forgotten about and start posting! It doesn't have to be your best ever shot and it's not a competition so you might surprise the rest of us and yourself - it's just about sharing some pictures, seeing others' take on the topic, and enjoying it! Everybody's welcome to contribute, any interpretation, any number of posts, pictures that have been posted on the forum before, any equipment as long as it and the photo complies with the forum's rules of either camera or lens or both made by Leica. Please post freely - especially newcomers and please remember there's no judging or criticism (good or bad) in this thread. So, if you'd like to show your acknowledgement or appreciation that someone has posted their picture then instead of posting a comment please use the "Thanks" button that you can find at the bottom right of every post. Please post away and I look forward to seeing your interesting interpretations of this month's theme. Note: Moderator Pop has very kindly assembled links to all of the past Barnack's Monthly threads as a single archive that can be found here: Barnack's Monthly Index. Thank you, Pop! Pete.

  11. We are suffering here from very dull and depressive weather but for a short period of brighter moments. Therefore it is not advisable to plan trips by car. The best I can do is running down to the city, catch the next tram and stroll checking the best corners. The great high ISO performance of the Q and its fantastic sensor did support freehand shots very well. Although I carried a tripod I did not mount the camera then.
  12. Hi, I've been using PS with Bridge since CS and am now on CS3. I use ACR to "develop" my DNGs on one computer and often want to access the same files on another computer on my network. At the moment I don't seem to be able to set the settings so that the development I do on one computer is visible on the other. So that e.g. I can continue on the second computer where I left off on the first. This is very frustrating and I'm sure that it should be possible. I have looked at the cache settings, but nothing seems to make any difference. I'm sure this is really simple, but it escapes me at the moment. Can anyone help? Thanks. Tim
