  1. I am looking for a camera bag to fit the sl with the Vario 24-90 attached and an extra lens like a 50mm sl apo. Feel free to post pictures of your bag and share the name. Thanks in advance.
  2. Dear Leica lovers, I will be buying a Leica IIIF soon, but wanting to carry it around I wonder if there is company that still produces Leica Thread Mount Camera ever-ready cases, because I don't want to rely on the old and often damaged old ones from Leica. Can anyone help me out? Max
  3. Have searched for a while for the ultimate pouch (neoprene, not leather) for my Leica M lenses. Finally found one for the "average" Leica/Zeiss/Hexanon lens. This bag can also be hooked to the belt via the sewn loop, having enough room for a finger to reach for the lens. I cut off the adjacent carabiner as it was useless. Now I can stack two lenses on top of each other (I have 4) in my ONA bag. I am not naming any brands, I am not associated with anyone, just informing anyone that was after such product that this company is in Munich, Germany and on amazon.de. They have even smaller (XXS) bags but they are too tiny for Leica lenses. The proper size they offer for the pouch IMHO was XS (7cm x 8cm). The bags are not the icons of design, nor very beautiful, but they do get the job done. PLEASE SHARE YOUR LEICA LENS POUCH EXPERIENCE(S).
  4. Hi, Anyone know where can I buy a Wotancraft Ryker Small Brown in Europe? I have been able to find an online shop in Netherlands but they do not have stock. And, I am trying to avoid to import due to the taxes and customs. Many Thanks AR
  5. I don't think this has been covered, although we have bag threads, strap and handgrip threads, accessory threads, hood threads (pun unintended), lens cap threads, and others..... I'm not asking about bodies or lenses either. What's in your walkaround kit or bag? (I'm also not referring to your main travel bag or whatever, which probably has charger(s), cables, computer, backup stuff, spare lens cap and body cap, full cleaning kit etc- Thorsten Overgaard's excellent full travel kit is here.) My walkaround kit is: EVF spare SD card microfibre cloth Whibal card circular polariser plastic shower cap for emergency protection (camera, not head) slip of paper with name/address/phone number/email address hat (can double as lens shade) (intangible) insurance In my (day) rucksack (mostly for landscapes): spare (charged) battery tripod cable release more cleaning stuff, though not often used variable ND filter macro adaptor proper dry bag for dire rain events and river crossings (jaapv's suggestion) a small/obsolete SD card with the latest firmware. something like a nylon bag with drawstring (which can be filled with rocks) which can be hung under the centre of the tripod to stabilise it Anything else? John.
  6. Maybe an old link for some of you, but quite funny. We are not alone in the search for the perfect bag.
  7. When I had my bag packed this morning, I remembered comments (and even outragious mails ) about my comment, that the beautifully made Artisan and Artist ACAM-7100 would be impossible, to hold a computer AND a camera. Well, as I commented earlier and seen here, this happens, just to be my daily working bag, which happens, to hold this Today: "7.4kg - closed" on flickr "7.4kg - inside" on flickr … more gritty details about exactly, what's inside my bag in Today's blog post on teknopunk.com Can you find the hidden item ? The bag has not been deliberately packed, to demonstrate, how much it could swallow, but indeed has happened, to just have this stuff inside Today: M8.2 + Noctilux as my long time favorite camera / lens combo (seldom leave the house without) M9 + 35 Summaron LTM as Today's 35mm alternative (love that tiny Summaron!) MP + 50 Collapsible Summicron-M for testing out the new lens, had it yesterday on the M9 for testing, which was moot, as the f2 Cron and slow ISO2500 M9 is just not good enough for low light ;-) I packed TX400 @3200 instead Today and will see, where it's heading The hidden item is in for finding a spare part, should I happen, to find time, to browse the camera markets Today - it's tiny, but heavy though.
  8. I am going to on vacation(Indonesia) and would like to get my new M9-P and one 35mm lens. I do not have bag yet and would like to get one which could hold Leica, wallet and keys. I'm looking for advice, any suggestions?
  9. I recently bought my first Leica camera, and found it great that the quality/size ration is so terrific, I usually carried a camera bag with my Canon DSLR but now I just tuck it in my messenger bag, I was wondering how do you guys carry your camera with you? This was and is one of the reasons for me to buy a Leica digital rangefinder, so I wouldn't have to carry the big camera bag with me and still have a great (if not better ) camera. Picture here taken (with my iPhone) of my bag with whats inside of it. Usually there are some sketch books in there too, or at least some paper... If you are wondering what bag it is, it's a leather bag called Pamplona (grey version) by Fred De La Bretoniere
  10. Hi, as promised, the Wotancraft people send me the new MKII insert as soon as they had it ready. It is a very well made insert, waterproof (thermo sealed), and quite shockproof. Actually, because it incorporates a waterproof zipper, it is a bag in itself. Therefore it can be carried in whatever you like. I do put mine inside a Billingham Hadley Pro, where it fits snuggly. The interior can be arranged as usual, with velcro attached walls. These walls have in their interior some sort of sheet that give them a very nice stability, so that it is possible to put the M9 horizontally on the top of the two of them that are so to say hinged. The solidity is first class, but at the same time it is a lightweight item. Tomorrow I will post some pictures of it. Regards, Manolo
  11. I like to travel light so when I saw one of these my eyes boggled! Put the M 240 with 50 attached in compartment, 28 alongside and the 135 slips into the bottled water holder. Any thoughts?
  12. After searching for a system bag for my CL outfit, The solution was right under my nose , and at a bargain price! I took a chance on a mint boxed M6 small combibag on ebay for £45 well, the fit is perfect....CL/Protector/35 TL fits the cradle, two spare batteries and room for filters below, 18 TL and (currently) 90 Elmar/M-L adapter in the lens compartment....(soon to be 55-135 TL) Finest nappa leather, pocket on front for other bits&bobs and overall tiny !
  13. Hello, I am on a list for M9. For hiking with outdoor rucksack, I would like to bring the camera in a small bag, fasten with a belt loop, on the side of the rucksack. Any suggestions for a suitable bag? I am thinking of M9+small lens, like Leica 35 Summarit or 50 Sumicron; the rest of the gear can be in the backpack. Something like this looks ok: Lowepro Terraclime 50. Thanks!
  14. Hi folks. Anyone out there found the 'perfect' carrying solution for a d-lux with extension tube and finder attached? I'd like it to be a small, over the shoulder bag, with easy access and subtle or classic styling. Would love to hear what you've found.
