Hi all, I've done a bit of back-pedalling, looking for a similar question here, but having found none, I'm somewhat confident this hasn't been answered before. So, hopefully, some of you may be able to provide an answer. What I'm trying to achieve: Using the EVF, I'd like to be able to use my right thumb to touch the LCD and focus; ideally using Touch AF + Release mode. Naturally, I've tried setting the CL to Touch AF / Touch AF + Release, tried EVF-LCD Auto / Extended, but, of course, to no avail. Am I missing something or is Touch AF limited to LCD mode only?

Hello I currently have a Leica TL2 using a adaptor for a M mount lens . I want to get a auto focus lens that will work with the TL2, I just don’t want to spend 1,500.00+ At the moment. Do I have any options ?

I have just updated to firmware 1.6.1 and noticed that the focus mode has 5 settings now and not three , with two single and two continuous settings as well as manual. The two new settings are with some inward facing brackets - what is the difference between the two settings for single and continuous please, with and without brackets ??

Diglloyd, who has a track record of finding oddities that are hidden in plain sight, says that he has found that "the Leica SL autofocus system was a disaster, degrading the majority of my work. I am sure that many users do not see the issue, if for no other reason than shooting at f/5.6 or f/8 or f/11, which often masks it enough to generate a (just) acceptable image. Also, overall contrast of the 24-90mm zoom is superb, which on the whole makes for an image with “pop”. But it does not mean sharp detail, ...". There are some earlier threads here identifying focusing errors (normally with the spot on which the camera focuses, and mainly with the 90-280mm). I have occasionally found misfocusing, but have just passed it off as user error or camera shake. Do others have similar experiences? I can imagine that the optical image stabilization might cause some image degradation or misfocusing. It is also possible that some focus settings work better than others: * AFs v AFc (seems to set whether the camera must have found focus before it will release) * static v dynamic/tracking focus v face detection * point v small area v larger area focus Is there any combination that is more reliable (for static subjects, say) than the others?

I can't find a single review where they discuss the EyeAF feature on the Leica SL. Exactly how good is it compared to something like the more modern Fuji XT3 or Sony A9 cameras? Is it reliable, and what kind of limitations are there? Thanks

Hi, I have recently bought an SL2-S and at beginning I'll mainly use with manual focus (M) Lenses. However, I really like the 90-280mm tele and I might buy second hand A couple of questions about autofocus: in all honesty, how good is the SL2-s autofocus when compared to say a Nikon Z6 (the camera I own)? same question as above for most advanced autofocus features, auto-focus tracking, face recognition etc. If am not mistaken, a massive firmware update for the SL2-s with significant improvements for the autofocus system was announced. Has it been released? In the 2.0 I have not seen much about the autofocus Many thanks in advance for your answers. Cheers.

Hello, I recently purchased a wonderful Leica S2! Everything is going very well so far! The only thing that doesn't work is the acoustic signal when the autofocus is focused! Everything is set to on and loud! Maybe there are still some tricks and settings that I don't know at the moment and have not taken into account! Thanks for your advice!
