Cosina drops 4 variants of the newest 28mm f/1.5 classic 60-year-old design lens: aluminium, obviously lightweight (250g) and comes in silver and black, and brass (330g), which is solid and heavier and also comes in silver and matte black paint. The latter has a removable focusing pin that fits inside the focusing tab. MFD remains in the classic Voigtlander zone at 0.5m. Hoods are extra. All specs are available on their website. Will you get one? Update by LUF Admin 2024-01-04 Voigtländer just sent me images and specs, you’ll find them here:

How rare are modern silver M wide angle lenses below 35mm? Specifically the Elmarit 21mm f/2.8 ASPH and Elmarit 24mm f/2.8 ASPH? What is the total count of the two? How about Summicron 28 ASPH? The latter is apparently not brass...? How many silver chrome Summilux 28's were made before they were discontinued? Any silver Summilux 24's? Was there ever the SEM 21mm Super-Elmar ASPH f/3.4 in silver? What about Elmar 24 f/3.8 ASPH? I have also seen a silver MATE but no WATE? And the silver Elmarit 28mm f/2.8 ASPH was finished in 775 pieces only?

So much written about the floating element wandering out of alignment and some other focus issues of this lens by many frustrated users goung through two, three, four copies. All the gathered information seems to indicate that these problems were present for samples made somewhere until 2018, so my question is, does the only SILVER special edition 11701 (batch of 300) from February 2020 exhibit any of the much debated woes regarding its FLE or did Leica tighten the tolerance? Proud owners, also paste your pictures of this very rare gem.

Please post your images at closest focus made with this Karbe gem, the 75mm f2 APO Summicron-M ASPH. It apparently has a similar reproduction ratio (highest at 1:7) to the new close focus Summilux 50 ASPH II 2023 (highest at 1:6.4). I am especially interested in your images with humans (portraits, sensual nudes, whatever you do), but any other subject at close focus will also do fine. Please no 75 lux or 75 Summarit or 75 SL.

I do own all the lenses tested side by side in this video and would 100% agree with Ted Forbes' comparison and summary - The dearly recommended one is the

Could not believe there was no thread for images made with Summicron 35 ASPHERICAL V1 and ASPHERICAL V2 (also known as Summicron V5 and V6). So here it is. Please indicate whether you used ASPH V1 or ASPH V2 and what camera. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do NOT post any PRE-ASPH Summicron V1 and V2 images and NO APO Summicron V7 images - the latter has its own thread here. Summicron 35 ASPH V1 and M10-R.
