  1. Cosina drops 4 variants of the newest 28mm f/1.5 classic 60-year-old design lens: aluminium, obviously lightweight (250g) and comes in silver and black, and brass (330g), which is solid and heavier and also comes in silver and matte black paint. The latter has a removable focusing pin that fits inside the focusing tab. MFD remains in the classic Voigtlander zone at 0.5m. Hoods are extra. All specs are available on their website. Will you get one? Update by LUF Admin 2024-01-04 Voigtländer just sent me images and specs, you’ll find them here:
  2. For UWA lens fans and users: could you work/live with just one UWA lens to rule them all (say, 15mm or 18mm) or would you rather have two extreme sides of UWA (like Laowa 9mm/Voigtlander 10/12mm and a 21mm)? Your thoughts are appreciated.
  4. Hi guys, this is my very first post over here after reading it since I've got my M3. I was using it with my friend's Summarit 50, while searching for an optimal lens for me. Finally, I've decided to buy a Voigtlander Nokton 50/1.5. Fortunately, I've managed to get one for a test ride (actual the one, I'll buy, if i do so) and I've experience the following situation with it: when I put it on my camera, it doesn't click. Like if the lens release button (or how is it called officially?) doesn't clicks into the lens. So I can take off the lens of the body without pressing the lens release button. Interesting, though, I can't rotate the lens in the opposite direction without pressing the button. What can I do in that case? The guy has an M6 and 240 and he doesn't have that issue. I've tried to unscrew the button and check it on both lenses, but it seems identically the same, till the last micro mm. Here's a video demonstraing the problem: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10156939/Video%2007-03-15%2012%2049%2029.mov Thanks alot, guys much love
  5. http://soundvisionpassion.com/2011/1...-color-skopar/ Hey everyone! I finally got my review up of this little lens. The 21mm F/4 is a fantastic lens. It doesn't change the world over, but for a 21mm lens, it is pretty darn amazing when it's price is factored in. I found a method of focusing to .5m on the M8 that works every time in the field. (even wide open!) I can nail sharp focus. I don't know if this works with other .5m lenses yet...but maybe someone can try it with the new 35 1.2. You can see detailed shot of how to focus to .5 in the write up! Let me know if this works for you as well!
  6. I know there are already a few threads which briefly touch on this lens, but I want to know: What do you think about the little 21mm f/4 Voigtländer? After planning a few photo trips this year, I thought I need a wide angle. Until now, my NEX-7 with the 12mm Zeiss Touit did the job, but I no longer wanted to bring that rather large combination with me all the time. My Billingham Hadley small still has a little room, and my M-system lacks a wide angle lens (I currently only have a 50mm and a 90mm Summicron). So today, I found a deal at leicashop.com (a well known Vienna-based Leica dealer), so I ordered the Color-Skopar 21mm f/4 together with the old 21mm Voigtländer viewfinder for €420. As I can still cancel the order - or simply send back the lens later - I would love to get some input. My Touit is a great wide angle lens, and I don't want to loose too much image quality. Speed is not a concern - since the M (240) can't do exposures longer than 8 seconds at high ISO anyway, night landscapes are out of question, and that's about the only thing where I need speed in a wide angle lens. So have you shot with the lens? Could you post some images made with it? Is the color shift a severe problem? The internet isn't filled well enough with information about this lens, unfortunately, so thank you in advance for any thoughts!

  8. Hey Does anyone know why there is no 24mm lens from Voigtländer? greetz Timo

  10. Hi all, I've been shooting a Leica M10-R for about 8 months now and I love it! However, I recently ran into issues apply lens profiles in LR. I just received my first 3rd party lens, the Voigtlander 90mm APO Skopar 2.8. I just realized that there is no lens profile applied and I'm not sure what I should do. The lens detection automatically selected "R-Adapter-M." I see that the other option is to turn it off, which I'd rather not do, as I have a few Leica lenses. The lens profile options in LR does not list this lens. Any suggestions? I'm a little lost and I have a trip coming up where I was hoping to use this lens extensively. Any help is greatly appreciated!
  11. Hi all. Receiving my silver M11 (first-time M user). While I am figuring out what first Leica lens to buy, I would like to buy a couple Voigtlander lenses to get me started. What Voigtlander lenses do you recommend? I know it depends on many factors. Here is what I am looking for. 28mm (or 35mm), 50mm, and 70mm, in not particular order. I looked at the Cameraquest chart, but so confusing. Maybe start with 2lenses, 28mm and a 50mm. Thanks for the advice and feedback i know this is a Leica forum and hoping I don’t upset anyone asking this question here. 😊
Can a BAD Lens be good?"
  13. I'm not sure whether I've had bad luck with getting lenses to fit on cameras, or if this is a common problem with the M system. My first Leica combo was an M3 SS with Summicron 50 V2. Since the body and lens shipped together, there was no problem getting them to mount. Next, I purchased an Ultron 28 f2. The lens fit into the mount, but I couldn't get it to click into place. Took it to a repair shop, and the owner basically got the lens to fit through brute force - said Voigtlander QC wasn't great and that this was basically to be expected. I used the lens like this for a couple of months, but it would often "unclick" itself somehow, so I eventually traded it for a LTM Skopar 28mm. Same thing happened with the first adapter - couldn't get it it to click in place. Went back to the shop, and was given a replacement that 'magically' worked without problems. Recently, I traded the M3 for an M4-P and, lo and behold, neither the adapted Voigtlander nor Summicron will even fit into the mount, let alone click. Thus out of 6 total Lens/body combos (2 bodies and 4 lenses/adapters), 4 have been faulty. I'd simply put it down to a service error or wear and tear, but the fact that this has occurred between unrelated lenses and bodies makes me skeptical. Has anyone had a similar experience? Am I doing something wrong?!
  14. I just received the new Voigtlander 28/2 asph Ultron in chrome from PopFlash in Thousand Oaks, California: www.popflash.com. Tony Rose's company is a joy to deal with. I enjoy 28mm lenses. I shoot with a Leica Q, the pre-asph f2.8 Elmarit V4 and the "new" f5.6 Summaron with an M10. Each lens images a bit differently. Voigtlander has really produced an amazing optic with the new 28/2 Ultron. This lens represents a significant improvement in their design and manufacturing capabilities for VM mount rangefinder lenses. It has edge sharpness at f2 with an M10 when coded as a 28 Summicron. I had the previous 28/2 Ultron lens. It as no slouch in the center but you had to stop down to f4 or f5.6 to get real edge sharpness. This new Ultron delivers edge sharpness at f2. This small chrome lens has some heft that reminds you of lenses from a generation ago. The bayonet lens hood is also a nice touch. Here's a photo I took today of a few books as a tribute to Erwin Puts who passed away. I miss his commentary on almost everything Leica. Stay healthy & be well. Richard
  16. Because Voigtlander has released the VM Apo Lanthar 50 mm I thought you might be interested to see a comparison of the Apo Summicron and the Apo Lanthar. I have tested with the Sony A7R4. If you see the pictures you can hardly tell them apart. The Apo Lantar is a gem for its money. Contrast and sharpness of both lenses are full open already impressive. The Leica has the advantage that it has the same quality and is even smaller then the Lanthar For all pictures see
  17. Hi All: I recently rediscovered this lens while thinking about a trip. After I started using it again, I am finding my way into the wide-wide perspective of the 21mm. I haven’t been using it for “photography” yet, only for family outings. Noticing quite a few questions about this lens on the forum, it seems a photo thread would be appropriate. I’ll start! M10P
  18. Here is my review of the Voigtlander 21mm f1.4 - in short: I really like it! https://www.erwinhartenbergphoto.com/post/wide-angle-wonder-how-i-ended-up-with-a-voigtlander-21-mm-f1-4-nokton-asph-vm
  19. Hi, there is a lively discussion of the 35 and 50 Leica Apos. This made me look how my Voigtländer Apo-Lanthar 2/50 behaves (M9 - f2) : Crops :
  20. Hi there. Couple of days ago I decided to try some LTM glass on my Leica MP and bought a new Fotodiox 50/75 adapter. While it worked perfectly I was surprised and mostly heart broken to see that the mid line of the lens mount had been scratched on my beloved camera which I saved for such a long time to buy. The scratch is superficial as far as I can see and on the 4,5,6 and 7 o'clock directions (The photo which I share on here doesn't do them justice. They are more visible than what looks like here). I didn't have time to develop my film so I cannot say if it damaged the mount on funtional level. But I want to learn your experiences with similar situations if you had any. I read that these things can happen even when you use native lenses on cameras but as far as I know for the last 9 months my Voigtlander 35mm f/2 Ultron didn't damage or let alone scratch the lens mount on my MP. I reattached my Voigtlander after experiencing this situation and shooting another roll of film with it to see if there is any problem. Is there a possibility that I damaged my camera functionally? Can my Voigtlander be attached to the lens mount securely and without further damage either to the lens mount or the lens itself? What are you thoughts on Fotodiox adapters? The adapter that I bought seems that it is made of a material that is not similar to the material that Leica uses on its mount. I would be grateful to read your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi there, I purchased the Voigtlander 35mm f2 Ultron about 6 months ago at my local Leica store. I have a problem regarding the focus ring; it's a bit loose in a way where I can move the focus ring horizontally and vertically (about a mm or so). Its not a big movement or anything but I can feel the loose when I'm trying to accurately focus an image. I've never seen anyone mentioning this problem from this lens., or any Voigtlander lens in this matter. I wonder if any user had such an issue or if I'm getting crazy about small stuff. Thanks in advance for the answers, Renaud
Meine Frage: Auf was sollte man achten? Danke schon mal. Euch allen schon mal eine gute Zeit. Möge das Jahr 2021 besser werden als dieses!
