  1. Pacific Ocean Sunset Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, Ilwaco, Washington March 1994 M6, 50mm Summicron, Fuji Velvia Pacific Ocean Sunset by Jay Burleson Seattle, on Flickr
  2. I took this on a visit to the Forbidden City in Beijing in 1998 and this is a scan from the original Velvia transparency. I used a Leica M6 back then, and this was probably taken with the 50mm Summicron f2 but I have no exposure details. It forms part of a gallery of Beijing images in a gallery which I am gradually adding to and can be viewed at http://archive.gwpics.com/gallery/Beijing-1998/G00001zr0M27_Rk4 Thanks for looking. Gerry
  3. I took this on the Isles of Shoals back in 1997 using my Leica M6 and Fuji Velvia (sorry, no lens details but I suspect the 50mm Summicron f2) whilst on a photographic retreat with the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists, and I have just scanned it for the first time.
  5. I'm going on a hiking and want to shoot some velvia. I picked up my first Leica (M3) and I love it. I've shot about 18 rolls but only B+W. The only lens I have is a 50mm pre-asph Cron. Does anyone have any pictures posted with this combo? I want to get an idea of what I can expect. Any help is appreciated.
Danke, Holger
  7. So I know most people on other forums hate Ken Rockwell. Personally, I think he is funny but no one else is getting the joke. Anyway, he has a new set of pics up, in it he took several shots with both the m9 and the m3 with Velvia. I think it is very interesting. Here is the link http://kenrockwell.com/trips/2009-10/index.htm Anyway, I think I could get better colors out of the m9 and I was very impressed with how well it performed. This also shows why the m3 is still one of the best cameras around.
  8. Hi all! I'm moving to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in a couple of weeks on a long term contract. I'm undecided as to which camp I should set up in, film or digital. I'm looking at investing long term into the M system, I miss my old M6, however I'm concerned about the image quality of the M8, and weather I should stick with what I know best and go back down the film route? I've also no idea how easy it is to obtain the likes of velvia etc in Saudi so this may play an important part! Cheers Matt
  9. sounds odd, but it's true - as you would expect from someone who has returned from the digital world. Taken with Zeiss zm 50/1.5. @ 1.5 [i think] on velvia 50. [processed by Peak Imaging (UK) - satisfied with their service]
