  1. Hi everyone! Voigtländer’s two most recent vintage lenses have been widely available for quite a few months, but I find very few “real life” reviews on line, and none from the usual suspects specifically, I am looking for feedback on personal experience/testing with the Color-Skopar 21mm f/3.5 VM on digital Ms (not curious about other 21mm lenses, nor Sony mount version, nor speculation based on specs sheet, nor inferences from the 35mm Ultron nor general talk about VM lenses). Anyone in this forum actually used the lens with a digital M yet? If yes, how did it perform for you (resolution/contrast, potential quirks in corners, distortion, vignetting, rendering in general, focusing reliability, etc) ? Please forgive me if the specific performance topic was already discussed in detail in this forum. Or can you point to any (good) output-based review blog/video (found one using film M, a couple showing lens rather than discussing performance and plenty of reviews for E-mount version)? Or simply pictures shot through the lens (preferably high res downloads)? i have seen the promotional picture samples published at launch, so no need to point there! Thanks beforehand!

  5. I am very excited to hear that Voigtlander will have a new 21mm Color Skopar. https://leicarumors.com/2018/09/29/two-new-voigtlander-m-mount-lenses-ultron-35mm-f-2-and-color-skopar-21mm-f-3-5.aspx/ I hope the "purple" side issues are solve haha. Anyone here excited?
  6. Sunset at Vestrahorn, in Iceland, a location offering much more than the famous mountain’s silhouette to those willing to explore it. Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters. Thank you for watching, best regards Vieri .

It was time for a selfie with the CL and some off camera flashes.🤣 Nobody home to help out, remote app not working with CL, Godox trigger and Voigtländer lens. Back to self timer and guessing position in front of lens.

Christian

  12. Hi all - haven't been very active on here - but promise some images soon! Anyway to the point - I've been really happy with my used T camera purchased in April but have mostly been using for images of my ceramic work that I make. I have been using the Voigtlander 35 1.4 Nokton Classic and also the Leica Elmarit-M 90 2.8, with some excellent results. However after a trip to Greece this summer felt that I am really missing the wide angle end of the scale! My budget isn't overflowing, but interested in what you all felt I should save up for - How does the original Voigtlander 15mm 4.5 fair on the APSC sensor? Reviews of it on FF were pretty bad! I am going on a trip to India/Nepal next Easter and would like something for all of those sweeping landscapes I am expecting to see, as well as lots of crowded city shots! HELP PS I am damn impressed with the T - I know I am a couple of steps behind their current offering but it has proved itself to be a wonderful little thing!

  17. I got myself a Voigtlander 15mm lens to go on my m262 for my England trip. I had a great time shooting landscape and buildings with it. I shot everything in RAW+JPEG. For on camera review, I was just using B+W only. I was preparing for some sort of vignette from such a wide angle lens, but I did not expect to see the magenta coloured vignette. I am wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on how to remove the magenta vignette. (See attached photo) Thank you very much
  18. Hi I've come from m43 and apart from a short flirtation with the original T system I'm new to Leica and very new to using adapted lens so would be very grateful for some advice on using non-Leica glass on my new CL. I'm extremely keen on UWA photography and whilst I have the excellent TL 11-23mm I still yearn for a little more width. On m43 I used the Voigtlander 10.5mm f0.95 mainly for nighttime tripod work and a Samyang fisheye for all sorts of things. I'm ready now to fully transition to CL so would like to replace the capability of those two lenses on this system. So, taking each lens in turn..... The Voigt on m43 was never as wide as I wanted but I had other lenses and the rendering is lovely (non-technical term) and it gives amazing starbursts at night. I don't need f0.95 when the camera is screwed onto a tripod so I have been considering the Voigtlander Hyper Wide 10mm f5.6 mounted on the CL via the M adaptor. But by my calculation on the CL sensor it will give me only a circa 5 degree increase in the field of view compared to the 11mm end of the TL 11-23mm so maybe not enough to justify its purchase. The Samyang fisheye is an extremely sharp, capable and versatile little lens on m43 and I'm keen to add it to my camera bag for the CL. It comes in a variety of mounts for ASP-C and gives a 180 degree diagonal FoV - Canon M, Nikon, Fuji X, Sony E (NEX), etc. Full details are here https://www.samyanglensglobal.com/en/product/product-view.php?seq=335 So here are my questions: 1. The Voigt 10mm is probably hard to justify given that I’m not going to get a lot of extra width for my money though someone may like to tell me if I’ve got my maths wrong. Are there any other UWA lenses that I should be considering or that other forum members would recommend? As always it will be a trade of between quality, speed and portability. 2. For the Samyang fisheye, should I prefer one mount to another for use on the CL? Is there another fisheye I should be considering? I’d be really interested to know if anyone out there is actually using this combo. Thanks for your help, my brain is still buzzing as I move from one system to another and try to compare fields of view and what is out there to do the job. I will post this over on the TL Lens forum as well.
  19. A little less than a year ago, I bought the CV 15mm Heliar III. I did not bother to purchased the CV 15mm Viewfinder., its a bit expensive in my opinion and I already have an Olympus EVF for my M240. However, I rarely use the CV 15mm Heliar III, mainly because I hate using the EVF. Do you guys think its worth it to purchased the 15mm Viewfinder?
  20. Still in love with my M3 but processing film feels more and more taxing as the years pass. I have been unable to find clean and clear answers to my question: can I use my old Summilux 50/f1.4, Summaron 35/f2.8 and newer Voigtländer 21/f4 on a Monochrom body? The switch is tenting but as I work mostly on a volunteer basis these days and cost is an issue.

  22. In the half term break I had a day where my son was at nursery and my wife at work. This meant I had a rare opportunity of having a day to myself. I had no idea what to do with myself. I decided to set off with the dog walking with the goal being to reach a local village called Affetside. The village is on the old Roman Road and has a lovely pub called the Pack Horse. My wife's family always called the The Pack Horse Inn "The Skull" as behind the bar is a human skull purported to be that of the executioner of the Earl of Derby. Anyway, I took along my M9 50 Summicron and CV15mm. The 15mm I am still getting used to and finding the best way to 'tame' it. I hope you enjoy the series.
