  2. I received a copy of the summilux 35mm pre-asph lens and noticed that it lacked a shroud or any metal rim to protect the rear element. While a "overly" protruding shroud may prevent proper function on some cameras, the lack of any protective shroud makes me concerned that the rear element will eventually be damaged. Looking at the back of the lens, I would not risk setting it down on a flat surface, but this may occur at some point. I am concerned that there was a shroud present at some point, but it was removed. If the shroud was removed it would be difficult to replace assuming that Leica does not stock parts for these vintage lenses. Having the part made would be challenging without the detailed specs and without knowing whether it threads into the space around the rear element. I'd just hate to start using this lens without adequate protection of the glass surface. Does anyone know if some of the summilux 35mm pre-aspherics were manufactured without any shroud or protective rim? I have not found any examples of this in my research, so I suspect its a missing part. Thanks for your thoughts.
  4. This might have already been covered somewhere.....but here it is: Since getting the Summilux 35 ASPH FLE (11663), I have been troubled by the inconvenience of switching between shooting with and without the lens hood. In fact I like the lens without the hood, which is shorter. But in very sunny days I really also want to have the lens hood attached. I'm not one of those gutty ppl who can do without a protective filter. hence the problem: Whenever I remove the lens hood, I feel I should attach the thread protector, which can only be done by removing the filter first, as the thread protector has a lip that prevents it from being screwed into place if the filter is attached already. The other day I chanced upon a strange solution, as I looked at my fuji x100 and wondered if its lens hood adapter will actually fit the 11663's exposed outer thread. Well, it does fit. so I have been using it since, as it can be screwed into place with the filter attached to the lens. Sometimes I just use the x100's hood instead, which can be attached and removed easily. You can also flip it and attach it the other way around, which to me looks a bit better: Granted it doesn't look as nice as the Leica thread protector that comes with the lens, but it is indeed more convenient. Oh and...slightly increased finder blockage with the x100's hood, but the difference seems quite negligible.
  5. Is there anyone who can tell me about the difference between summilux 35mm f/1.4 v1 early serial (170-) and late serial (200-)? I heard that summilux 35mm v1 early serial showed more glow effects, a better transparent color Summilux 35mm v1 later serial, however, showed better sharpness and contrast a little bit. Is this true?
  6. One of the first B&W's with my new MP240, after the corrosion upgrade from my beloved M9P. I like the tone gradations delivered by this sensor too.
Was wird empfohlen? Verkauf? Service? ...
