Was würdet Ihr wählen und warum?

Greeting Knowledgeable Gentlemen, I have a curious little accessory here. From the waist down, it's a normal lens hood fitting the 3.5cm & 5cm Summicron, Elmar, etc. Instead of a normal hood, however, it has a male 49mm thread on the front. It's marked "42" on the rear chrome surface that faces the camera. Please help!

One of the problems of being an old dinosaur is that technology rolls on and passes me by. To this end, although my only concession to modern technology is an M9-P, I'm still using my old 35/50/90 pre- ASPH Summicron lenses from my M6 days. Unfortunately, LR6 does not have these in its lens pre-sets. Is anyone else in this position? What is your work-around or are you just using the ASPH equivalent profiles? Many thanks

Question for those who had their flare prone APO 50 modified by Leica. If you could chose again, would you (and why) prefer to have the original lens back and work with the flare limitation ?

I just bought a 35mm Summicron pre-asph 7-element (aka Bokeh king), but I prefer a round hood. Some sellers claims the 12504 hood compatible with this lens and some claims not, I'm so confused.

Hello, I noticed my 50mm Summicron is starting to lightly haze. I don't know if it is because the weather in New York is now amazingly hot, and sticky, and the lens is nearly 45 years old and has never been serviced because it was essentially new in box when I got it. I guess my main question is honestly where is the place to get this cleaned as best as possible? I would like to put an end to this ASAP. I know about Sherry and Don, but would sending it to Leica NJ cost about the same amount or a little more? Thank you in advance, Greg

Hi, I'm a newbie (to Leicas and this forum) from Scotland. In the last 6 months I've traded-in all my Canon DSLR gear for a M7 and 50mm Summicron, and just last week I've picked up a M3. Apart from being a bit dirty inside, which I wasn't expecting seeing as I'd bought it from an authorised Leica dealer, it is in great condition with no obvious issues with patch alignment, shutter speeds etc. I put my Summicron on it today and noticed that the patches don't move through the full range of lens focusing distances; the infinity end seems ok but at the close focusing end the patches won't focus any closer than approx 3 or 4 feet i.e. as I move the focus ring past 4 feet towards the closest setting the patches stop moving. On my M7 the patches cover the full focusing range of the lens. As I said I'm a newbie to Leica and rangefinder cameras in general so just wanted to ask am I missing something obvious here or do I have an issue? Thanks in advance if anyone can help. Cheers, Liam.
