  1. It takes wading in the ocean, water nearly chest high, to get to the Arch at Playa de Campiecho with high enough tide for the cave to be filled with water. Once you get there, however, the feeling and the view are simply amazing! Taken at sunset during the Workshop I led in Atlantic Spain in 2017 with Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  2. At Playa de Mexota, Asturias (Spain), you'll find yourself facing a sail-shaped sea stack towering in the Atlantic ocean. After climbing on the rocks facing the stack and finding a composition, it was just a matter of waiting for the sunset... This is a 36 seconds exposures, with the help of Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm Super Wide-Heliar and my beloved Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  3. Urro del Manzano at Sunset, in Cantabria (Spain). This is a 60 second long exposure taken with Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  4. The Royal Palace in Aranjuez, Spain. M240, 28mm Elmarit-M ASPH.

  6. Sunrise at Playa de Pendueles, taken right after my Workshop in Asturias (Spain) last October while exploring for new locations. Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm @ 24mm and filters Formatt-Hitech Firecrest. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  7. It takes wading in the ocean, water chest high, to get to the Arch at Playa de Campiecho with high enough tide for the cave to be filled with water, and then some more wading into the cave to get the photograph: but the feeling and the view from in there are simply amazing! Taken at sunset during the Workshop I led in Asturias last year with Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  8. A dramatic morning at El Picon, taken during the Workshop I led in Asturias (Spain) last fall. Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri
  9. "El Picon", the Pickaxe, is one of Asturias most recognisable features. Photograph taken at sunrise during the Workshop I led in Spain last fall. Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Can't wait to be back there! Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  10. I will be off to teach my spring Workshops tomorrow, got 5 of them lined up and probably be off forum for one and a half month or so. Before going away, enjoy Playa de Portizuelo in black & white, a long exposure taken during the Workshop I led in Asturias last fall. Leica SL, Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  11. Heading back. M240, 60mm Macro Elmarit-R.

    A quiet moment

I took this on a trip to Barcelona in November 2015, but I have just worked on it to get a look I am happy with so that I could submit it to a National Geographic project entitled 'Quiet Moment'. I used a Leica M9 with 35mm Leica Summarit f2.5 lens and shot at 400iso. Gerry
  13. "Portizuelo's Devil", in Asturias (Spain). You need to do some acrobatics to get to Portizuelo when the tide is high, blocking access to the beach; however, the landscape there is definitely worth the shower. Leica S (007), Leica Summarit-S 70mm, Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  14. After the vertical one taken with the Leica SL I posted a while ago, one more Sunrise at Playa de Gueirua in the Asturias (Spain), this time in landscape format and with a slightly longer lens (28mm FOV instead of 15mm). Playa de Gueirua is really amazing with the right sky and definitely worth the descent (and ascent back up!). This time is Leica S (Typ 007) and Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  15. Playa Ballota is a great location - the islet is a spectacular background, and there is plenty of foreground interest. Just love it!! Leica S (Typ 007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  16. El Castro de Las Gaviotas, an impressive sea arch in the Asturias, Spain shot at sunrise. Leica S and Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri
  17. "El Picon", an incredible rock formation, close to Llanes in the Asturias, at sunset. Leica S (Typ 007), 70mm Summarit-S. Best regards, Vieri
  18. The Arch at Playa de Campiecho, in the Asturias. Leica S (Typ 007), Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  19. Just as the title says: Symmetries at Playa Ballota, Spain. Leica S (007), Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Best, Vieri
  20. Playa de Ballota, Asturias, at sunrise Leica S, Summarit-S 35mm, 8 seconds @ f/16. Thanks for viewing, best Vieri
  21. Walking down the airport in Frankfurt to catch a flight you´ll note in almost every electronic store the presence of Leica products. I´m sometimes wondering about who is passing by and buying a Leica-M cam or lenses exposed in that shops for thousand of Euros just a few minutes before taking off but there is enough crazy money around the world that needs to be spent. So it´s a guess that Leica might be happy with it´s sales in such "prominent locations". Living since a few years in Madrid I´m also wondering why Leica is not present with a shop - maybe a gallery too - in the third European metropolitan area, providing dedicated Leica users with the chance to see, to taste and to buy new products. Madrid is a wonderful, lightful and vibrant city that provides a wide range of possibilities and knowing the affinity of Spaniards for German high quality products it´s rather peculiar why Leica products aren´t offered in a decent store here. Anybody aware about the companies market strategy or if they are planning to expand into new markets maybe with new stores in Spain?
  22. Three Asian tourists sample the delights of one of the many stalls selling a variety of freshly cooked food within the main market which can be found just off La Rambla in Barcelona. The Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, often simply referred to as La Boqueria, dates back to 1217, although the preset structure dates to 1853. Now firmly on the international tourist trail, the market is still popular with locals and visitors alike. Leica M9 and Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f1.5. 1/30 - f4 - 800iso. Gerry
  23. A young lady poses for her partner to take her photograph against the backdrop of the streets of Barcelona in this image shot with a Leica M9 and Zeiss 50mm Sonnar f1.5, and then converted to b&w in Lightroom. Gerry
