Does anyone have experience using ND filters or variable ND filters on their M240, with Voigtländer lenses? Specifically I would like to be able to use a 58 mm filter ( to fit the Heliar 15 v.iii ) and a 49 and 52 mm step up ring with the 58 mm filter for use with the Nokton 50 1.5 and Nokton 35 1.2. Does anyone know if this will work with the stock hoods, or can I not use the hoods? Will the filter fit within the hoods? Trying to not have to buy 3 different size filters. The hood on the 15mm is non removable, but very small. Thanks, Brent PS looking at the Hoya and B+W specifically. The B+W seems quite deep in the variable version, and they're specifying a different front filter thread diameter than the filter size ie 58mm rear threads, 62mm front.
Hi When I have a ND filter attached to the Q and am using MF I get there symbols on the screen in the top right hand corner. They go away with a half press of the shutter but keep reappearing when I move the focus ring. It is hard to see them in the pic but they are: A magnifying symbol with a + in it. A "+3" in the circle. The word [set] next to the circle. Can't find out what they are for. Anybody?
Hi, I dont know if this is the correct forum, but I wanted to share and learn using ND filters on digital M's. Please feel free to contribute: Learnings so far: + "A" works ok. + I use a 67mm ND11 with step down rings for different lenses. + The effect is pleasing (at least for me) - I get some strange flares on 90/4 macro, and sometimes on 50/2. Havent found the cause, but suspect light leakage in lens. - The WATE filter adapter seems to have some strange threads, not compatible with other lenses? - If I use the WATE filter adapter on WATE I have to mask the small window in adapter to avoid flares due to ligh coming from behind the lens. Here is a test with Hoya ND11 (-11 EV) on a 35/1,4 FLE on a M240 (aprox 16 seconds?). In heavy snowing: L1009355 by Alf Sollund, on Flickr
