I wander around my home city of Glasgow a fair bit. I always have either my Leica M Monochrom mk1, or an analogue M loaded with black and white film with me. I think that finding interesting photographs on the street is pretty much the hardest type of photography. But when you do get something, it's very rewarding. What does anyone else think/find? A few pictures I've got around Glasgow with my M cameras..

I've been working on a series of early morning cityscape images, mostly with my previous camera, a Fuji X100v, now, with a new Leica Q2 inhand and with a renewed enthusiasm I'm back on the early morning hunt. It was great to finally be able to get out to my favourite cafe yesterday and drink coffee with a friend I haven't seen since Christmas. I have been having problems with my knee and have found walking almost impossible but thankfully I am just using one stick now. Like so many I am in a lockdown situation, and as a safeguard I have not ventured out for many week because of my age and heart condition. Those around me are keen to keep me a live for some reason! 😄 I have therefore been exploring the home environment, and also exploring my under-used 24mm Elmarit-M f2.8 ASPH. Here is one from my garden which was taken with the Elmarit on my M240, and then converted to black and white in Lightroom CC. Technical details are 1/90 f8 @ 2000iso Init is pretty dark under the oak tree). Hope you like it! Gerry

I took this in the Louvre in Paris in 2002. I have just scanned it to add it to my archive. The camera was certainly the M6 and probably the lens was the 35mm Summicron I had back then. It was taken on Agfa Vista 800 colour film, which I have no rational explanation for now because I can't imagine me ever using it. The grain is pretty big, but through judicious use of LRCC I think I have gotten away with it at this size, or at least I hope so! I do like the result. Gerry
