My M8 LCD stopped showing anything. Leica Germany sent this back to me as it was not possible to fix as same to many other users have malfunction LCD display. (Also I was offered upgrade to M-P) It still take great pictures, setting was still same to what i want it to be so i would still use it. However, once it is back from attempt of repairing in Leica, time setting on camera was about 21 days and some hours off. As I know many of user have damaged LCD, are there any way to access to menu and adjust time?

OK, I give up. The SL2 camera does NOT want me to set date and time. I can change their format, but I can't set actual values from the camera. I've switched off the sync via Smartphone option. I can select individual year, month, and date. But no control I try (no dials or buttons) does anything to change their values. Any ideas what is going on here??

I've written an article with the best practice for setting up the Leica M10 and Leica M10-P as a quick starting point for new users. It's based on the new possibilities with the last two Firmware updates. Leica M10 Fast Start: Basic Menu Setup and other useful tips

Hi everyone, I'm a very happy owner of M10. Just one question: maybe it's just a characteristic of the M10 but on the Q, when I set on the menu that the camera should never go under (example) 1/250 and I shoot in low light conditions the image resulting is quite black. On the opposite, on the M10, if I set the minimum shutter speed at 1/250 in the same menu and there is no sufficient light, the camera prefer to shoot at (example) 1/6 to give me a non black image. But I have a shakes images. Everyone noted that? Thank you.

Reading the spec. sheet for the Leica SL, it seems clear that these three options are available. Using up to +/- EV 3 stops. Having now twice handled this camera with the 24 - 90 mm lens, I can only see an option for 3 / 5 frames. Has something changed with V-2 update ? Both cameras had this firmware installed. Many thanks. p.s. Did a search but no information found.

Help! All of the functions buttons on my M8 have been de activated. The camera still seems to work fine otherwise, but I can't even access the main Menu. Does anyone have related experience? Is there any trick to re-activate these functions? Thanks

Hey folks - I'm new here - and new to Rangefinder photography in general. But I took the big plunge on an M9 and a 35mm Summicron. I am absolutely loving this combination. What a thrill! And I'm improving my focusing skills every day. It perfectly suits my style of photography, and although I am not planning on selling my Canon system, I don't expect to be taking it out again any time soon. By way of introduction, I'm a television news producer - not a pro photographer (although I am dating one) - but I've been an avid photographer for 25 years. As I see it, the Leica is a natural evolution in my own style of photography. I started off shooting landscapes and abstract/nature years ago - and these days focus almost entirely on what some label "street photography." (i'm not a fan of the term). Anyway, I would be curious to know what presets any of you might have programmed into your M9s. I realize these are very personal things and would differ greatly among everyone, but on the Leica I find them much easier to use than on my Canon. A very quick way to change several settings at once. So if you care to share any details on how you've set up your presets I'd love to hear them. In the meantime, best to everyone. I look forward to being around here for a while. Chris
