Hey All - I was trying to use my Sl2-S with my macbook. I was trying to help my nephew record reaction videos and also use the camera as external on Zoom calls. I connected HDMI to USB-C but it doesn't recognize anything when I connect it. I'm not sure if I'm missing a simple mistake during the process. I put the camera in video mode and i've tried putting in USB storage and PTP and still nothing. Am I missing a utility firmware to download ? I even tried my nephew's PC (hdmi to hdmi) and nothing; so I feel i'm just missing a step. Any help appreciated thank you!!

Am looking for a Mac laptop to take along on photo shoots. Have found a couple models that look good, but some have and some lack the Retina Display. I'd appreciate hearing any opinions on whether this is a coin-toss decision or whether Retina Display is that much better than non-Retina screens for photo use. Thanks!

I have decided to purchase the MacBook Pro 13" after years of PC use. I will keep my 3 year old 13" Sony Z series as my home (banking etc and work related MS office 2010) unit, and travel ( and have fun ) with the mbp. Question: I have searched the fora but cannot find a recent answer. I only have LR4 installed on the pc, so I should be able to install it on my new unit. Most of my photos are saved on duplicate EHDs via LR. Will the Mac read files saved via the PC? How do I transfer the catalogue to the Mac. What is the best way to move old catalogues that are on my PC hard drive to the EHDs so LR can find them. Same questions for SEP and my Zenfolio site. I also have the latest iPad and an iPhone 5, so I have some experience with Apple. I have an m9, mm and someday an m240. Thank you, in advance, for your answers. No reply is too basic and I welcome any words to the wise. I am a nurse, not a computer wiz. I forgot to mention, I like small laptops, don't play games, listen to minimal music except for a few classical favorites on iTunes, have a Nook for travel, hardly watch movies and lastly live 4 blocks away from the Apple store here in SF, which is next door to Fireside Camera, my local Leica store. kaethe

I have spent the past hour trying to tether my D-Lux4 to a MacBook with Aperture V3.0.1, with no success. Although I have followed the instructions in the Aperture help section, I keep getting a 'No camera detected' message. In the menu on the D-Lux4 I have selected USB, and then tried both PTP and PC but neither seems to do the trick. As usual the instruction manual has been of no assistance - it doesn't mention tethering at all, from what I can see... anyone managed to do this successfully?

Hello All, I've chosen this forum because I find y'all the best informed group there is on photography. This question goes out to those who were or are Kodachrome film users and now have the new LED screened Macbook or similar screened laptop computer. Let me explain. One day a long long time ago when I was a lot younger and photography filled a great need to produce art, I was looking at my Kodachrome slides with an incandescent spot light (an incandescent light bulb will work too) as the light source and the slide was tilted at a wierd angle producing an off color tint to the image. Sort of but not quite a negative look to it. For instance, blue sky would come out looking purple or reds would come out looking greenish. I guessed it had to do with the three layers of color being slightly off center with what it should be. There was a time when I (the artist in me) fell in love with that look and produced many pieces of art by copy photographing that off-color look. Flash forward thirty-five years to today and lo and behold, that off color imaging has dejavued back in my life when I look at my Macbook at an angle way lower or way higher than its supposed to be. What is it about the new screened LED Macbook's three color array that produces that same Kodachrome look I found so many years ago? Thanks Felmer
