I put this in the 'street photography' forum with little to no response. I happen to have several rolls of delta 3200 It took several recipes to get satisfactory results. This image was pulled to 1000 asa and developed in hc-110 b. I can see using this combo for highly structured compositions and thought I would share the results with film shooters. Frank i meant for this to be posted in the 'i like film' thread. It's been that kind of week......sorry for the confusion!

  5. Hi folks, I'm desperately seeking a new eyepiece (standard magnification) for my M6, as it somehow unthreaded yesterday and fell off while I was shooting. Retraced my steps several times, but it's nowhere to be found. I need another one ASAP. I live in Montenegro, which makes things harder still. The parts person I contacted at Leica says they have none in stock and won't until September. Can anyone recommend anywhere I'm likely to find one? Happy to try and ship from anywhere. Probably easiest from Europe. Thanks in advance! Cheers, Chris
  6. Lincoln City, Oregon. M6, 50mm 1.5 Sonnar, Portra 160 Thanks for looking! Frank
  7. Hello. My insatiable GAS has brought me to Leica M3 and M6 with a few lenses. I had been a longtime Canon user, now using Fujifilm for my digital photography. I've recently rediscovered film and have tried to get my hands on every iconic film cameras I've heard of growing up but was too poor to acquire, beginning with the Olympus OM-1. Since then I've bought, tried and sold about 50 film cameras from all the major players in the last century. From that I've narrowed it down to the cameras I absolutely love and will keep: Canon New F-1, Olympus OM4T, Nikonos V, Fujica ST801, Leica M3 and just in the last 2 weeks, the M6. Coming from the SLR world, there has been a bit of a learning curve using Leicas, but I see now why that name carries such a mystique. With SLR's it was always about capturing the moment in the easiest way possible. With Leicas, I feel like I'm creating art. I guess that's my point - Leicas, especially the M3, make me FEEL. I'm so glad I found these deals on eBay and CL (so lucky!) and honored to be part of this fraternity. Sincerely, Dan
  8. I just got my first Leica M6 and am (of course) trying everything out extensively. Unfortunately, I am facing the known problem with the frame counter that is not resetting to zero when opening the bottom of the camera. The camera goes back to the seller next weekend to get this fixed. In order to discover everything else that might need some attention, I have two silly questions: 1) How do I notice that the film is fully exposed? Even when reaching the max number of frames on the film roll, I can still wind the rapid-advance lever and also press the shutter release button like for normal exposures. I did this five six times before finally rewinding the film. 2) I noticed that it only takes a few winds of the rewind lever to fully rewind the film. Is this normal or is it a sign that the rewind mechanism is not working properly? Or might the prior owner possibly have changed the wind meachanism to two or three stroke? And how could I identify that?
  9. Hi all, First time here, thanks in advance for any help or insights you provide! I recently purchased a Leica M6 —in what appeared to be mint condition. I ran through the standard checklist of items and it passed with flying colours. Unfortunately it was purchased from someone on Craigslist, and there's always a risk there. I got my first rolls of film developed, and it looks like there's a fairly significant light leak coming through. See below, a horizontal band that runs across the lower third of the photo: Has anyone here seen this issue before, or have any ideas as to what could be causing it? Any advice and/or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Andrew

  11. When I purchased my Leica M6 classic there were scratches on the side as the strap's plastic thingy hits there all the time. As you can see you can see the zinc layer (silvery shiny). But now I am a bit worried about if it triggers an galvanic reaction on the top plate and it will turn into zinc oxide powder. Is there any suggestions to keep it in a good shape? I was thinking to cover it with a small piece of electrical tape.
  12. I'm pretty excited! Sherry had my M6 for several weeks for a light leak/CLA/viewfinder upgrade and I just got her back and my Summarit 35 f/2.5 arrived today also. I'm running a test roll through it right now but I can say that I'm glad to have it back for sure. It was a bit expensive but I'm thinking that this will hold me for a LONG time...
  13. I have an M6 but I don't know which Leica film M's have this same loading scheme but I stumbled on this guys loading video and was very impressed at the ease and speed with which he loaded a roll. I just got my M6 back from Sherry and decided to try it exactly the way he shows here and to my surprise, it worked flawlessly!

  16. This was taken in 2002 using an M6 and Kodak 400CN. I have recently scanned it and processed in LR and Dfine. I have no idea what the lens settings were but the lens was probably my Summicron 50mm f2. Gerry

  18. I never noticed this before. When I look at my M6, I noticed that I can see some of the mechanism through the glass, I never noticed this before and I've spent a LOT of time looking at my M6 Is this normal? Should I be able to see this gold thing through there or is something out of place that wasn't there before?
  19. I titled this 'Was that you?"
  20. The following three images are from a film I shot in 2002 using the Leica M6 and 50mm Summicron (I think!) at a street festival in Emsworth, England. I hope you like at least one of them! Gerry
  21. I attended the 2016 London Leica Meet and took my 1986 M6+ three lenses. Film was 2005 outdated 'Tudor' ( FUJI) 100 which i rated at 64 ASA and had processed by Boots of Brentwood High Street to 6x4" and I scanned prints with my HP Scanjet 4570c + Vuescan Pro + PhotoShop 7 -- my 1965 M2 has shutter problems so did not take any B&W. All here on my 1966 35mm f1.4 Canadian Leitz Summilux
  22. Hi from the Netherlands! I was using Nikon d70s for 10 years along with my dear Pentax K1000 with 50mm f/1.8 lens. I was in Cuba for 3 weeks with d70s and pretty much happy with it. But the mirror sound started to bother me since it ruined quite a few moments. Also carrying it under 35℃ was not the best thing. So I started to look for other DSLRs like Canon 6D and Nikon D750. A friend of mine recommend Fuji X100T. With the addition of Fuji, it become a total mess in my mind. I read and watched almost all the reviews that I can find. This continued for a month. Then suddenly, I realised that I can look for a second hand M6 for the similar prices. I was not already very happy with the digital (I have no rush to see my photos). Its size, weight and quietness was perfect for me. I found an excellent condition black M6 and a mint condition Summarit 35mm f/2.5 on Ebay. Everything happened in just 4 hours. I knew there was something wrong with the other options (Canon, Nikon, Fuji) because I don't think on buying something that much. And the best thing was it arrived on my birthday Now I am still with the test roll (Kodak Tri-X 400). Today I will send it to a local lab for the development and scanning. I hope light meter and rangefinder works well and do not require CLA. By the way, I wonder if there is any pro lab in the Netherlands (I live in Groningen) that you guys are very happy with the quality of the results. I used HEMA service before, but I am not happy with their color process (bw is more reasonable) Thanks in advance! Oh here some photos of my M6 classic:
