Is it possible to set up the Leica Q to be used as a webcam for Zoom and other video conferencing meetings? If so, any suggestions on setting it up?

Moin Moin aus dem Norden, Ich habe mir eine gebrauchte Leica Q gekauft. Sie sieht sehr gut aus und soweit ich es einschätze ist sie technisch ohne Fehler. Sie hat nur etwas Schmutz auf dem Sensor. Meine Frage: was wird den gemacht bei einen Clean and Check? Und was kostet so etwas und wie lange muss ich rechnen. Liebe Grüße Michael

So we have two 28mm Summilux lenses to choose from nowadays, the Summilux M and the Summilux Q. I am curious: For those who own and use both (and knowing this crowd, there has to be several who have both) which image rendering do you prefer, and why? Obviously there is way more that factors in to choosing between these two lenses, but my interest lies in the different rendering that the two lenses produce. Thoughts?

Sold my Leica Q last week in mint condition and I am having severe separation anxiety. I need to buy Leica Q in mint condition. But need help to decide: Should i buy Q or Q2? I have watched some reviews on YouTube that the colors / rendering and 24MP is a sweeter spot than Q2? Should I wait for Q3, launching most probably early next year? Due to my anxiety I will most probably buy either Leica Q or Q2 asap and buy Q3 next year as second camera if the upgrades are worthy. Any help would be appreciated and make me calm until I get Leica back in my Palm.

I am new to the Leica system and I was so excited to find a certified Leica Q-P in my price range. I just received it last night and having been playing around with it this morning. Two things I noticed right away - autofocus seems to be hit or miss and the photos seem noisy even at an ISO 400. In fairness, I started taking shots of my active daughter pretty early this morning before we had a lot of light, so it's possible the autofocus is totally fine and that the low light conditions and auto shutter speed were lending to the lack of focus. My settings were AFs, Face Detection, Spot exposure metering. I did notice that as the room got brighter, the photos were more in focus. As for the noise, it seems that a 400 ISO should be pretty clean? I am shooting raw and editing in lightroom. The photo below is ISO 400, f/2.0, 1/640. I am hoping I am just overthinking this because in the back of my mind I know it's a used camera.

Hello, I just joined this forum and am hoping to get an opinion. Today, I received my first Leica, a Leica Q which I had bought through ebay and found (what I think is) dust on the sensor. The seller had confirmed to me that even at f/16 there are no problems. It isn't noticeable in most other pictures I take so I am wondering how others would handle this situation and if you would consider it reason to complain to the seller and ask for a refund? I am thinking that this could lower resale value even though I am not thinking I will resell anytime soon. Btw, I contacted Leica in Wetzlar and the lady on the phone was sure that there was not an update to the Q in 2017 which sealed the battery opening better against dust (which I had read on here). She even contacted two other Leica employees which both confirmed the same. Thank you Sevi

Hi, I know that Lightroom is supporting the Q's crop mode in DNG, meaning it will automatically crop to 35mm or 50mm aspect with the ability to recover the 28mm frame. I know that Capture One unfortunately do not support the crop modes and will just display the full 28mm. I'd like to test the feature on other RAW converter before purchasing my Q. Would anyone be kind to send me a DNG file which has been taken in 35 or 50mm mode? Thanks a lot! Romain

Hello all. My Leica Q of two years all of the sudden shows a pretty severe Purple / Greenish tint to everything through the back LCD, but not in the EVF or the actual photo files. The issue popped up out of nowhere after a flight, and I've done everything I can on my end to fix it but nothing has worked. Anyone else have a similar experience? Really trying to avoid sending this thing in for however much that will cost to fix. Firmware is up to date. The photos attached are the difference between the back LCD and the EVF (Which has normal color). Apologies for the bunk iPhone photos but at least you can see the difference in color.

I purchased a Q end of last year, liked it so much that I sold my Nikon DSLR, Lumix FZ-2500 and Fuji XE-T3. I then purchased the CL with the 18-56mm lens a few months later. Now with adapters to use my Rokinon wide-angles, and 7 Artisan lenses I find myself using the Leica CL way more than the Q. There's no doubt that the IQ of photos from the Q, a full-frame camera, are better than the Leica CL, t's a fantastic camera and lens with macro capability.. But I'm thinking of selling it add more lenses for the CL (or at least pay it off 😎). Anyone else face this situation? BTW, with all that's going on in the world at this time, I'm fully aware that this is no big deal, but it keeps my mind off the other cataclysmic issues we're experiencing. All opinions welcome, any recommendation for lenses?...thanks. I am currently waiting for arrival of the TTArtisan 35mm F1.4 lens to ship. Be Well everyone.

Hi there, I've noticed recently that when ON, Q makes this constant noise - sort of like hard-drive working/internal electonics buzzing... not the OIS element in lens when the camera is OFF, nor the clicky aparture sound). It's an electronic sound, just like a computer or other larger device emites... especialy noticable when I put my ear to the lens or LCD... but can be heard even from some distance, when the room is quiet... Is this normal? Should I worry? thanks

Hi! I recently purchased a used Leica Q manufactured early 2018. When I try shooting in night, both "low iso + long exposure", and "high iso + short exposure" captured in DNG file shows annoying banding, and even some unwanted color points, like the images shown below. Is this a native camera issue? Or this camera sensor is defected : (

Hello everyone ! I just noticed that I have traces of wear on the hot shoe connectors of my leica Q2. I have used it only very rarely and with leica flashes. Has anyone noticed the same thing? Do I have to worry about it? Everything works very well but I still find it weird .. Thanks for your help !

Hiermit möchte ich mich auch kurz hier im Forum Vorstellen. Ich Fotografiere seit 1969. Aus einer Freizeitbeschäftigung st eine Passion geworden. Mit Leica arbeite ich seit über 30 Jahren, analog natürlich. Meine letzten analogen Bilder habe ich anläßlich einer Reise nach Neuseeland 2002 gemacht. Die Negative habe ich bereits nach der Entwicklung Einscannen lassen. So konnte ich daraus einen Bildband machen als Erinnerung. Nach Jahren unbefriedigender Ergebnisse mit diversen digitalen Kameras von Canon, Nikon usw. bin ich seit 2013 mit Olympus Kameras zufrieden. Seit dem Fotografiere ich damit. Besonders die Pen-F hatte es mir angetan. War während der analogen Fotografie die Weiterbearbeitung der komplizierte Part, ist das Heute das Fotografieren. Die Firmware der heutigen Kameras sind dermassen aufwendig gemacht, das trift besonders auf Olympus zu, das wie bei den Homecomputern nur noch wenige den vollständigen Durchblick haben. 20% der User können 80% und 80 % der User können 20% der Funktionen bedienen. Zum Glück fällt es mir relativ leicht mich in ein Computersystem einzuarbeiten, da ich über 20 Jahre damit mein Geld verdient habe. Trotz habe ich unzählige Konfigurationen der Kamera und stundenlanges Lesen der Betriebsanleitung gebraucht um die Pen-F wenigstens zum größten Teil zu beherrschen. Da komme ich auf die Leica Q. Wenn man es genau überlegt, braucht es doch für eine gute Aufnahme von Seiten der Kamera nur -Blende, Verschlußzeit, ISO, und Entfernungsmessung-. Dieses bietet die Leica Q. Man kann von außen die Blende, die Verschlusszeit und die Entfernung sichtbar einstellen. Iso ist auf Tastendruck vorhanden. Den Weissabgleich muß ich mir zwar im Moment über die FN taste holen, aber mit der Daumentaste kann ich den Digitalzoom umschalten. Damit ist alles erforderliche gegeben und leicht zu merken. Diese Einstellung habe ich mir auf ein Preset gelegt und will auch damit Arbeiten. Für meine Frau habe ich dazu ein Vollautomatik Modus als Preset generiert. Ich hoffe damit erst mal alles erforderliche an Einstellungen zu haben. Ich habe mir sehr viele der Treads hier im Forum und in anderen durchgelesen. Da wird erstaunlicher weise der mangelnde Umfang der Leica Q bemängelt. Ich denke gerade das ist die Stärke der Kamera. Außer natürlich die sehr gute Farbwiedergabe, von der exzellenten Schärfe ganz zu schweigen. Resümee für mich. Ich habe die im Moment perfekte Kamera gefunden. Die Einstellungen lenken mich nicht von der kreativen Seite der Fotografie ab, was leider bei vielen Kameras der Fall ist. Die ersten Ergebnisse sind atemberaubend. So eine Schärfe und Farbwiedergabe habe ich nicht erwartet, nur gehofft. Leider gibt es auch eine Schattenseite der Kamera. Die Farbwiedergabe der JPG ist mir zu schlecht. Ich nehme immer DNG. Was mit Lightroom zu erstklassigen Ergebnissen führt und da ich sowieso Nachbearbeite kein Problem. Der automatische Weissabgleich ist nicht besonders Perfekt. Vor allem bei Kunstlicht stimmt das Ergebnis gar nicht. Der mitgeliefert Trageriemen ist ein Zumutung. Dagegen ist selbst der von Olympus besser. (Tipp erbeten) Aber ich habe mir sowieso die Streetomatik Tasche geholt und da ich noch keinen Handgriff habe benutze ich die Kamera mit der Daumenschlinge zum sicheren Halten. Damit ist sie dann auch mit einem guten Wetterschutz versehen und ist schnell zu erreichen. Die Batterie ist sehr teuer, aber es gibt ja von Sigma eine passende Alternative die absolut baugleich ist. Sigma BP-51. Aber damit kann ich gut leben. Die Q ist sehr schnell einsatzbereit nach dem Einschalten. Der Verschluß ist extrem Schnell und Leise und der Sucher schön scharf. Die Bilder werden exzellent. Als nächste will ich mich mit schwarz-weiss in der Q beschäftigen. Bisher habe ich nur Farbe gemacht. (Danke für Tipps) Demnächst werde ich mal ein paar Bilder einstellen wenn ich darf. Dann können der Worte auch Taten folgen. Bis dahin mit vielen Grüßen NC-Hermann

Hi, i'm new to Q and curently i set AWB when i start shooting. My friend told me that he adjust manual White balance everytimes he shoot at diffirent enviroment. So what is your advice for white balance for Q? you do AWB or manual adjust it? Would love to hear from you guy.
