Hi, I have a SL and use my 75 lux or 50 nocti f1 to shoot portraits with it. Mostly I shoot wide open, but not always. I'm thinking to buy a S-system to do studio portraits but I'm wondering about the difference in rendering and IQ (keeping my SL too ) Of course, I know a medium format will have this special beautiful look and less dof but I'm just curious... Watching a lot of images shot with a S-system, I prefer the typ006 for the ccd rendering... So, if anybody can post the same image/portait/ shot with both systems should be nice Any input would be appreciated! Thanks and best regards Peter

My recent blog post and summarized feedback on the Leica S007 after using it for over a year, including my recent trip to Iceland with behind the scene photos. This review is mainly based on my own personal experience of using this system in combination of a few S lenses in the field. http://www.faran.gallery/blog/2016/7/15/the-harsh-winter-of-iceland You can follow my work on: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/farannajafi/ Travel / Architecture: www.faran.gallery Fashion and portraiture: www.faranstudio.com Thanks! I have a question about Leica S APO_ELMAR 180mm, at WO f3.5, when I hit the DOF preview, I can see the aperture blade actually close some instead of WO. To verify further, I tried at f4, it is indeed close a little bit further and each stop will close more. Can you guys who have this lens check. I took an image WO, and look through the lens, I can see the aperture indeed close a little before shutter close. From what I guess, if the exposure indeed at f3.5, the lens most likely f2.8 if not close. The reason I find this out is I notice bokeh light source ball is not fully rounded at WO.

Good morning Leica S fans, Leica is offering me a demo day to try some lenses. Not sure if I would ask for the S 100mm or the S 120mm. It should be used next to the S 30-90mm zoom. Mostly for portrait (60%) and travel (40%). Very very rarely for Macro. Which one is your favorite and why?

Hi All, just wondering if anyone in Australia has the Leica S - Contax 645 adapter? I really want to try it out with a few lenses before i buy and the helpful folk in management of Leica in Australia wont bring one into the country unless its paid for up front! Happy to pay a hire fee & shipping costs if need and i can get the item listed on my insurance schedule for the time that it would be with me! Ping me an email if you can help out! Thx all Wade - wade (at) wadeedwards (dot) com (dot) au

Just a short note to tell you about a new way I've found for attaching the Leica S to the tripod's head. It's via the Novoflex L-Bracket. With it it's possible to go quickly from horizontal to vertical without changing the tripod's head position, something every L-Bracket should allow. This Novoflex part has an Arca-Swiss profile, and fits seamlessly in the Castel-Q rail. Together they form a quite small and light panorama rig, for rotating around the nodal point. Besides, this L-Bracket gives a good grip for the left hand. And with it the camera can rest, both horizontally and vertically, on a flat surface without the danger of scratching it...

After the vertical one taken with the Leica SL I posted a while ago, one more Sunrise at Playa de Gueirua in the Asturias (Spain), this time in landscape format and with a slightly longer lens (28mm FOV instead of 15mm). Playa de Gueirua is really amazing with the right sky and definitely worth the descent (and ascent back up!). This time is Leica S (Typ 007) and Leica Summarit-S 35mm. Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri

"The end of the line", shot in Death Valley (USA) with the Leica S and Summarit-S 35mm. The drive to the Racetrack can be a bit taxing, especially if you don't have the right car for it, but it definitely worth it: such an amazing place, not to be missed! Thanks for viewing, best regards Vieri

"Portizuelo's Devil", in Asturias (Spain). You need to do some acrobatics to get to Portizuelo when the tide is high, blocking access to the beach; however, the landscape there is definitely worth the shower.
