  1. This is a very old image of mine that I always come back to. I was walking the streets of Bielefeld and enjoying long exposure photography. I did not know what to expect. It felt like making music.
  2. I noticed on Amazon (US) that the Kodak V90 appears to have a favorable comparison to some of the more prominent brands and wonder if you have any experience with it. The price seems lower than Sandisk (V90) but higher than Transcend (apples to apples specs) and I am not even sure if I would benefit from a V90 vs. V60 on my CL. Obviously, the V60 cards are significantly lower cost compared to V90's. I use my CL primarily for photos but do not want to lose the video option just because the V60 is cheaper. Cheers, M

  4. saw this today, quite a substantial price increase... https://www.shopmoment.com/reviews/why-kodak-film-prices-are-increasing-whats-changing-what-isnt https://kosmofoto.com/2022/12/new-kodak-alaris-price-rises-announced-for-march-2023/ """"The price rises from Kodak Alaris – the company which sells photographic film made by Eastman Kodak – come amid continuing supply problems for Kodak-branded films, as the US giant has struggled to meet continuing demand, especially for colour films, amid a global pandemic. The pandemic was largely blamed for earlier rises announced over the past three years. However, this latest price rise seems to be partly due to recent Eastman Kodak’s investment in film production. In October, Eastman Kodak said it wanted to hire more people for its film production division as demand for film continues to soar. Nagraj Bokinkere, Eastman Kodak’s vice-president of film manufacturing, made the plea while appearing on the Get Real podcast for Great Rochester Enterprise, a business hub in the New York-state city where the film producer is based. He said the film maker had already taken on more than 300 new employees over the previous 18 months. In addition, Kosmo Foto has learned that Eastman Kodak has also been upgrading finishing equipment, which has been a stumbling block for increasing production to meet demand"""

  7. Few weeks ago, I use my M9-P compared to Kodak 35mm film (Portra 160 & 800). Honestly, I don't think how good is M9 series image performance, but the CCD do makes M9 series become the unique one in Leica digital camera. 10. Hello there! I have a slight but not to severe problem. I've noticed that my Leica M7 is not able to read the DX code of these two specific films: Fujifilm Superia X-Tra 400 and Fujifilm Fujicolor C200. For these two films I get the ISO value of 5000 and 3200 which are obviously wrong. For example, Fujifilm Pro 400H is working perfectly fine, the ISO detection works without problems. Further I tried several other films like Kodak Ektar 100, Kodak Portra 160 and 400, Ilford FP4+ 125 and so on... and the dx detection worked perfectly fine on every single one of these films. I compared the working ones with the "malfunctioning" films and the only difference I noticed is that the black paint in the dx code is a kind of green, it's not a perfect black, more like a darkish green, definitely not a true black. Could this maybe be the reason? The thing is, I've sent my camera to Leitz for a grand- overhaul just 3 weeks back. They changed and renewed a lot of parts including thr DX- reader so the camera is like brand new. Unluckily I've no clue if it had the same problem before it went to Leitz because I've not shot one of these films before. It would be a great help if somebody has an answer or maybe a similar problem! Regards Alex
  11. Does anyone know if there are any LTM versions of the Kodak Aero Ektar 178mm ?

    Kodachrome

I am intrigued that Kodak are now pushing Kodachrome photography (note, I did not say Kodachrome is back) by publishing a new Kodachrome magazine, edition 2 of which is now available at a price of £20 here in the UK. It features Kodachrome images from the archives but is very expensive for what it is. I also note that a contact sheet featured in Edition 2 was shot on Ilford HP5, but it is what the featured photographer was using ‘back in the day’. Does this re-emergence mean that they are trying to raise interest in Kodachrome again? Pretty unlikely, but a strange move. Gerry
  15. Hello, I recently published my M2 user experience in my blog using Summaron35 f2. 8 and Summicron35 version 4.All were taken with Kodak Portra400. The M2 with these 2 lens are amazing. ( I got the good deal on Summicron35 during my trip in Munich, so I carried two 35mm lens😋. Hope you guys enjoy the picture and have fun shooting. I really love my M2 https://goo.gl/G5T1TR
  16. has anyone used rolled, Kodak Vision Cine film on their M cameras ? quite cheap for $2.50/36 exp thought id try it..the place that's selling it also develops so no headaches they have FUJI ETERNA VIVID 160/250D/500T (CINE) and Kodak Vision 3 250D/500T
  17. I have pushed Tri-X to ISO 1600 with good results but I never though it was possible to go to 6400 without a serious loss of image quality. Kodak Tri-X is truly a dynamic and capable emulsion; it's all in the processing...
  18. Photos from a day spent hiking around the mountains near my hometown. All shot with my Leica M6, 35mm Summicron IV and on Kodak Portra 400 film. Would love to see you over on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_philippw._/
  19. Hey, I went to Vietnam this summer and shot a series that was among other featured on the leica camera blog. You can check that out here: http://blog.leica-camera.com/2016/09/25/lounging-in-vietnam/ But of course I shot a lot more than just those few images in the series! So I still had a ton of photos from my trip to Vietnam buried in Lightroom. I haven’t posted any of them anywhere because I couldn’t really figure out how to arrange them in a story that would make any sense. Also most of these photos are a tad too touristy for my taste. But since I still really like them and can’t stand the thought of never showing them I decided to split them up into a couple of smaller sets and post them on my blog - of course fully aware that tumblr is pretty much dead these days. But hey, any place is better than the depths of my hard drive. All photo are taken with a Leica M6 and the 35mm Summicron IV on Kodak Portra 160 or 400. You can find some of the photo already on my blog and I will keep updating over the next few days. Blog: http://lifeon35.tumblr.com/
  20. Hallo!
  21. I shot a little photo series while in Vietnam this summer All Kodak Portra 160/400, Leica M6, 35mm Summicron Full series here: http://www.philippwortmann.com/lounging-in-viet-nam Teaser:
  22. Hallo, nun habe ich zum ersten Mal einen Negativfilm entwickelt. Tri-X 400@400 entwickelt in Fomadon R09 1:25. Ich hab also 18 ml Fomadon R09 in 432 ml Wasser (destiliert) gelöst. LG – Lukas
