I have pushed Tri-X to ISO 1600 with good results but I never though it was possible to go to 6400 without a serious loss of image quality. Kodak Tri-X is truly a dynamic and capable emulsion; it's all in the processing...

Hallo Leica Freunde, habe mir nun endlich den Wunsch einer Dunkelkammer erfüllen können und nutze nun einen Durst M670BW der neusten (zuletzt gebauten) Version. Alles soweit klasse nur die Multigrade Filter, die ich mit dem Vergrößere zusammen bekommen habe passen nicht. Ich erläutere das mal kurz: Ich besitze ein 12 Filter-Set "Ilford Multigrade" um diese unter der Vergrößerungslinse nutzen zu können (Für Splitgrade etc.). Habe wegen der schlechten Filterschublade (Filterfolien sitzen nicht lichtdicht in der Filterschublade auf Grund der Konstruktion - Licht kann an den Randbereichen durchscheinen!) mich für diese Möglichkeit entschieden. Problem ist jetzt nun aber, dass ich den Befestigungskorb, welcher mitgeliefert wurde, mein Schneider-Kreuznach Componon-S nicht halten kann. Der Durchmesser des Linsengehäuses ist zu groß ( < 1mm ). Wenn ich es versuche zu befestigen sitzt es immer schief. Die 2. Möglichkeit, die Filterhalterung am Objektiv mit 3 Schrauben zu befestigen, ist leider auch nicht möglich, da ich so den Blendern nicht mehr bedienen kann. Mache ich etwas falsch? Jemand eine Idee wie ich die Halterung befestigen kann? Vielen lieben Dank!

verwende eigentlich schon länger den Ilford 100 und den Ilford 400 -- ab und zu taucht das Bedürfnis auf bei schlechtem Licht zu fotografieren. Nun lese ich da und dort daß der TMAX 400 beim pushen dem Ilford überlegen sei und auch sonst schärfer und kontrastreicher sein. Wer kennt eine dementsprechende Abhandlung / Gegenüberstellung ? Hi, I've used Ilford's XP2 since it was invented. I like its smooth tones, latitude and convenience. I used to process it myself, but recently have used a lab. The same lab developed these two films, although a couple of months apart. One film has considerably more grain than the other. There were differences in lighting conditions, but although with chromogenic films grain varies with film density, I would not expect such a huge difference. There may possibly have been a slight difference in exposure value (i.e. one film shot at 320 ISO and the other at 400). Can anyone account for this difference? It makes the grainier film real "pepper and salt" and hard to scan and print. The other film is what I expect and produces lovely smooth prints. I have tried to scan and process identically and have used the same, small amount of Smart Sharp on both.
