When being in Hong Kong this year in october we had the experience of a typhoon of category no 3. Constant heavy downpour of rain and wind made us look for shelter and then head out for a few shots an wipe the lens afterwards. The Q performed very well.

Hong Kong, october 2016 during a typhoon of category 3 The heavy downpour of rain provided a softener and diffusor for the exposures. Coming out from inside airconsitioned rooms the challenge to keep the camera free from condensation was tricky. After every shot I had to wipe the lens. The Cultural Centre at the harbourfront of Kowloon was for us the first place to wipe off water, clear our things and bcome ready for the next series of shots. Leica Q

Since the tripod was occupied by my Canon 5D MKIII the Leica Q had to show its potential. All shots were handheld only. Hong Kong, The Peak f 8 - 1/60 - ISO 100

I was being busy with 2 cameras, one on a tripod, the Q being ready for anything else. People were bustling with selfysticks, toothpaste smiling and posing, the crowd was a permanent menace to my tripod. Keeping an eye on the crowd there was here and there also a picture for me....

This is a series showing samples of living areas where we strolled to explore the city. We did not see any other Europeans there. The city is under permanent construction and old ramshackle buildings are certainly to be replaced by another sort of stapled housing. The question is whether there will be ever enough room affordable for normal wages. All with Olympus EM 5 + Summilux 15 mm

Since could finish processing the pictures from my recent Hong Kong trip I can start to post a few series. To start with I can tell you that one of the best parks in Hong kong is the "Kowloon Walled City Park". The Walled City was once a stronghold of the Triads, having transformed the quarter of a British Garnison, into a solid mass of housing where the police feared to go even. From our hotel in the neighbpourhood old the old "Kai Tak Airport" it was only a short 20 minutes walk. The government finally decided to tear down the Walled City and transformed it into one of the most beautiful parks and Chinese Gardens in the city. People simply go there to relax, you can find there many Thai girls and women there who work as nannnies for Chinese households. If being in Hong Kong one should not miss this place. Late september I was in Hong Kong for a fortnight and we could explore many locations. Stanley is a place with an English tradition in the south of HK-Island. After a hot and exciting day it was a welcome place to relax, have dinner and then going back to our hotel on Kowloon. This picture was taken just after sunset, a rising moon here is vanishing behind a hill. Pano out of 2 pictures, Olympus OM EM 5 with Elmarit R 60 mm.
