  1. Hi all, I've recently upgraded from a 28mm Elmarit f/2.8 (pre-ASPH) to the 28mm Summicron f/2 ASPH (used) and I received the lens yesterday. However, it seems to me that the Summicron is not focussing at infinity when I'm trying to: I'm noticing that faraway objects are out of focus, ever so slightly. At first I thought it was due to the lens being slightly softer wide open, but I stopped it down to f/4, all to no avail. I'd like to know if the lens is damaged so I can return it in time. Here's a screenshot comparing the two. I've also uploaded the raw files here. I'm new to the M system and I'm unsure what to do: and given this is a very large investment in a lens, I'd like to be sure that the lens is working as expected. Thank you.
  2. Here's an image of my 8 month old 28mm Elmarit ASPH (latest generation). Purchased brand new, and after some very light use and immaculate care, the entire aperture ring came off during an event today (10.14.2018). This has not happened to me with my Fuji, Nikon, Canon, or Voigtlander lenses EVER. I am very disappointed to say the least. This isn't the first time I've had an issue with a brand new Leica I purchased so my disappointment comes from experience. Anyone else out there experienced something like this?
  3. Could anyone please help telling me what these white marks are? Does the lens need to get fixed? Thank you so much for your kind help in advance.
  4. I should confess that I don't like this practice and I'm trying to start a new project to denounce it, but I know that our dear forum member Louis likes it and once mentioned to me that he would love to shoot a series about butchers that he can't find in the US. I took this shot for you Louis, and I was about to post it when I saw your Steakhouse post, what a coincidence ha?! :-) If you'll ever come to Lebanon, this could be a project of its own for you to work on, I should start mine but so far, I'm not having the required amount of courage to do it... Perhaps this shot will help me push the START button! To the rest of my dear forum members, I hope this image won't be disturbing to you and i apologise in advance in case it is. Your comments and critiques are always welcome as usual.
