  1. I am using an S1R as my backup to my SL2. I cannot get the official sl2 cable release therefore my question is : can I use the cable release from my S1R which has a thinner body with the SL2 with a simple adapter as they both have the same number of contacts. Using the phone app is not the right solution for me because of the small time delay trying to shoot at moving birds in a nest.
  2. I lost my cable release which I had used on my M10 since I got the body about two years ago. So I bought a new one (A Leica one) in the Leica Store in Mayfair, London. It worked for the first day, then stopped working. It's odd because you wouldn't think anything could go wrong with something so mechanical and simple. But it has. When I press the shutter release at the end of the cable, the prong at the other end does not stick out (the action what would normally trigger the shutter). I can't see anywhere to screw it tighter etc. All idea welcome as I can't easily get back to the store to return it.
  3. Does the Lieca Q have the bulb or T mode? I can't find it anywhere. If it has it, for how long could be exposed? Thank you, Giulio
  4. Hi Q-folks! I am an experiential designer, which means I design experiences (interactions between human and tech) not physical objects. And I have just published a concept of Leica Q-P – a more focused purist version of Q. You can check it out here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/41794509/LEICA-Q-P Just wanted to ask what you think about such a camera. Do you like it or not? Would you buy one if Leica were to produce it? Thanks in advance! O.
  5. I'm trying to see if there is an off-the-shelf (read: non-Lego, heh) timer / intervalometer solution for an M8/M9. I'd like the option to do time-lapse with my M9 but have not found anything. Coming from DSLRs I was hoping there would be an external electronic timer that would let me set exposures every X seconds for a period of time (so I don't have to sit by the camera and set the self-timer 1000x). Since the shutter release has the mechanical release in it I know it's possible, but who knows if someone makes/sells one. I assumed there might be something like this since people did time lapse before the digital era when mechanical releases were still common. However I've looked around here and in other forums but it looks like there is no electronic releases of any kind; there are only manual cable releases. Since some more time has passed since the last threads I saw about it I thought I'd post about the topic again. Has anyone else heard of a solution? Thanks! Matt
  6. The button on the M9 Titan is not drilled to take a cable release, unlike the standard M9. If I want to take a very long exposure, setting the speed to "B" and holding it down is fraught because it is likely to lead to camera shake even with a tripod. Any suggestions?
  7. Well, O.K., I am duly impressed with the V2 firmware update. It seems to be good enough, even with hand-held photos, to warrant some tripod tests. What does one do for a cable release or its equivalent? Is there an electronic shutter release, like some others have? Maybe one is stuck using the shutter delay. I'm certain that Leica never envisioned this camera as a serious tripod camera, but the lens seems to warrant it.
