Hello guys, I recently ordered a Summicron 90mm f/2 from 1973 (latest model before the Summicron-M 90mm f/2. It's in great shape and the optics are clear, only a few really small specs which do not affect the pictures taken with the lens according to the seller. I didn't pay too much for it. I was wondering if anyone else has this lens, and what they think about it! Here is a picture of my lens. I'll be getting it next monday, so my own pictures will follow!

Hallo, ich bin gerade am Überlegen, ob ich mein Summicron gegen ein 2 Jahre jüngere Tele-Elmarit eintauschen soll. Das Summicron stand in letzter Zeit auf Grund der Größe immer mehr nur im Schrank. Auf der anderen Seite ließt man immer wieder von angegriffenen Linsen des Tele Elmarit. Mein Leica-Händler sagt, dass das Summicron natürlich die bessere Konstruktion wäre - aber was nutzt es, wenn ich das Objektiv immer wieder daheim lasse? Das Objektiv wird an einer M3 / M6 verwendet. Nun schwanke ich hin und her, ob dies ein guter Tausch wäre. Gibt es hier vielleicht jemanden, der vom 90er Summicron auf das Tele Elmarit gewechselt ist? Habt Ihr es bereut? Gibt es hier jemanden, der den Schritt anders herum gemacht hat? Ach ja - der Tausch wäre quasi 1:1 Ich bitte um Eure Erfahrungen. Vielen Dank! -
Since cars are rarely in livery at the winter test, I challenged myself to see if I could shoot the two-day event using only my Leica M9. While ultimately I had to drag the DSLRs and long glass out of the car, I did manage to shoot about 75% with a rangefinder. Even panned a little with the M9 and 90mm Summicron.

The Local Natives at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen in Jan 2010. My first concert shoot with the M9 and 90mm F/2 I got, (2nd hand) at Red Dot a couple of days before the gig. At the front - 90 was a great length for tight shots of the band. Focussing was interesting ;-) I've got some great shots of sharp mic stands and blurry singers ;-)
