Leicaflex pentaprism(s) hanging as a mobile...
As a college student in July 1975 visiting Wetzlar, I, my younger brother and Mother were given an impromptu tour of the factory by a marketing executive. The accommodation and kindness shown by the Leitz people is remembered to this day. They almost insisted upon keeping my M4 for a factory CLA, and shipped it back to me. I don’t recall the exact turnaround time, but it was quick. I couldn’t live TOO long without my M4!
As a souvenir of the visit I was given four Leicaflex pentaprisms which had been rejected by QC. Great material for a mobile to colorize any room, and that’s what I did. They looked flawless until that same younger brother got upset with me and threw them out of the window onto the concrete walkway two floors below...
