  1. Mine is black on black. Fits perfectly as I said in another thread. Goes on and off quickly and securely (with a little practice) using any small coin to loosen/tighten the flush aluminum bolt to the tripod socket. Camera shop folks may be learning on the job ... 2. I carefully followed the Leica firmware instructions in English and had no problem, but interpretation of the final black screen is not explained well. There were clear progress/confirmation messages or graphic indicators at each step of the process, including one that said was installed successfully and that the camera would restart. The screen went dark and nothing further happened for a few minutes. I turned the power switch off then on. The firmware menu item then showed version — functions seem normal so far. 3. I have both for my M10 but little experience with them yet. I also use and like the Leica thumb rest. The protector case + thumb rest has an excellent fit and feel in my opinion. I anticipate using the hand grip alone when I am working indoors with a tripod, flash, etc. and having the display, hot shoe, rear controls uncovered is higher priority than protection. The leather case front grip is more subtle than the hard grip but works fine the the case + thumb rest configuration. You should try the variations in a store if possible. 4. Forgot to mention the date printed on the silver box label is 23 May 2017. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. Both these retailers are excellent and both have been especially helpful with accessories, lenses, batteries, advice, etc. I was not on B&H waiting list but they also notified me of accessories on hand the moment they were in stock — so they were helpful as always, too. Best of luck to others still waiting. Very exciting times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Picked up a black chrome M10 body today at Leica Store in Washington, D.C. I was placed on waiting list January 31. Also was notified a few minutes later today by Ace Photo in Ashburn, Virginia, that they got a black M10 for my waiting list position. They were gracious as always when I called to decline the one at Ace Photo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Four batteries arrived at my home this week from B&H. Waiting patiently for M10 from Leica store Washington, D.C. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. The product you need is called the Leica rangefinder thread adapter. The product number is 24 001. I tried it with my magnifiers in the Leica Store in Washington, and I bought two of them while waiting on their list for an M10.
