Indeed the M90 Summilux 6 Bit code is confirmed as 111011, my dear mentor.
Now I can use my lens under Auto Detect mode.

    Cheers

Thanks to my a spy mission from my mom we discovered my dad has a grip of those old Pentax lenses, all M42 mount.

    Zeiss Jena Flektogon 20/4
    Meyer Optik Gorlitz Orestor 100/2.8
    SMC/Pentax Takumar 55/1.2
    Super Takumar 135/3.5
    Super Takumar 28/3.5
With the Leica M to L adapter and an M42 to M adapter (any suggestions?) stacked, he can use all that vintage Pentax glass with the CL!  What a cool little camera.
As he was missing a 50mm equivalent, thanks to the great advice here I found an excellent deal on a lightly used 35/2.5 Summarit M  and bought it today.  It will be nice to have a modern Leica lens to go along with his vintage lens collection.
I can see the 18TL or other wide angle M lens down the line purely for pocketability on trips, but the Summarit is plenty small sans hood…

lct reacted to benqui in If you have both: when and why 50 APO or Summilux?
I had both and sold my Summilux for the Apo. I am vey happy with the decision especially because of the size of the Apo. It is sharp, and it also is my favorite lens on M film cameras. It will be very difficult to decide the quality of the lenses with our downsized photos here, but finally I would prefer the Apo. I think it depends on your style of photography which one is really good for you.

There's far more gong on with sensor development and refinements than pixel count (or sensor size), a lot of which can influence light gathering ability, noise, dynamic range, etc.  For example, as Stefan Daniel explained regarding sensors from the M10-R and M10-M (which share architecture with the S3), besides the MP gain, electronics were moved so that sensor area devoted to photon/light gathering was increased by about 10%,  dual gain architecture was introduced, actual pixel shape was refined, and so forth.
Rather than make predictions based on unknowns, probably better to wait and try the M11 and make our own real life assessments.  I'm sure that somewhere along the way, we'll here again from Stefan or someone else about the technical underpinnings. And even then, we'll probably not know everything.  Each camera company introduces their own tweaking, in myriad ways, not to mention the potential for software corrections.

Very nice. DP2 Merrill pic linked below. Great sensor but i don't use mine above 400 iso due to digital noise.

    Thanks for the enlargements, Ict.
I'm pretty sure Leica have been 'playing around' with the visual ratios concerning 'above the crease-line to below the crease-line' for a long while but this is the first time I've ever seen the v/f window framed below the top-cover / body-cover split.
It would still be nice to know whether the 'skin' is cut-down to make way for a flush-fitting v/f window or if there is a cutaway on the top-plate behind the part of the v/f which 'hangs' below the body-covering.
Very interesting from a design-detail POV.
    Thanks again!
    Philip.

There are perhaps less software corrections on larger FF than smaller APS lenses. Just a guess though. All FF AF lenses look too big on the CL to me anyway. YMMV.

When you put an APS-C L-mount lens on a FF L-mount camera, the latter does not use the whole FF sensor but just a crop of it corresponding to the APS-C format. Then the FF camera works in crop mode i.e. behaves like an APS-C camera. Or at least i assume so as i have no experience with FF L-mount cameras...

I have both 11204 and 11259 versions. The 11204 is very small and it is a sharp lens in the center at all apertures but it is soft in the angles at f/2.8. Vignettes a lot also on FF bodies, at least on my 5D1. I don't use it any more for this reason. The 11259 is bulkier but not that much and has a built-in hood as Andy said above. The 11259 vignettes significantly less and is sharper in the corners than the 11204. All in all the 11259 and the almost identical 11333 are very good lenses although not my favorites on the 5D1 (Zuiko 28/2).

Lovely picture of that kid. There is absolutely no doubt and if I had made that picture with my M10 I would be very, very  pleased. On the other hand it is a bit disappointing that nothing in the background is crisp and sharp as I would expect it from an APO 😎 🥵
