  1. Thanks for your replies guys. I now have a spare standard holder that I plan to file, and I've been offered a few filed versions. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
  2. I know someone posts this question regularly - so I'm sorry if it's getting boring! I need a Focomat V35 25x37 negative holder. I believe there were two types made #17011 and #17012, and either will do. I hope someone can help me! I have an exhibition to print for December and I need those black borders! Thanks in advance.
  3. My neg archive does concern me. I use the paper-based leaves but the temperature in my office is currently 30degC. Is this going to cause long term damage? Cheers, Paul.
  4. Erl: Am I correct in thinking that the 5000 doesn't scan to the edges of a 35mm neg? I need to get the edge as a keyline. For this reason I'm looking at the 9000. Cheers, P.
  5. Another vote for 7dayshop. They stock a lot of analogue photography stuff and are worthy of support. Cheers, P.
  6. I'm waiting to find a good secondhand 9000 for a good price. It can scan over the edge of a 35mm neg!
  7. Hi, I know Andreas has just come out with the frankly outstanding iPhone Safari interface, but has anyone seen the iPhone app Tapatalk? Basically, it's an iPhone app for vBulletin forums. I use it for the APUG. Any chance of this forum being on there? Very easy to set up apparently. Here's the link for forum owners: Tapatalk - Online Community at your fingertips! It would be great to access all my forums in one app. Cheers, Paul.
  8. If you're really curious Magnus, I suggest you ask these guys: HEINE/LENZ/ZIZKA Frankfurt office. Cheers, P.
  9. Can't fault your logic there Andy! And you're quite right - not as easy as it looks. The Ph.Art site looks good - but does anyone go there? Maybe I can use Google to see visitation stats for the various sites. Will investigate. Cheers, Paul.
  10. I've decided to take the plunge and try to sell digital "on-demand" prints online. Does anyone do this already? Have any recommendations regarding the best websites to use? I shoot all film, so I'm hoping to provide a scan of a neg to a site, from which they sell prints to the public. I think SmugMug is one option, but they're definitely orientated towards colour digital and I'm definitely not. What about ArtistRising? Anyone tried them? Words of advice? Cheers, Paul.
  11. Thank you all for your responses, I'm very glad you like the pictures. It's very difficult, when you're sitting on your own, sifting through hundreds of pictures, trying to decide on just 30 or 40 to go into a collection. What to discard? Are they all good? Are they all awful? You begin to question everything, so it's great to get feedback like this. Daniel: I'll be in touch! Cheers, Paul.
  12. I've managed to get the softcover version of The Constant Eye up on the Blurb website now, which makes things much less expensive. Plaza Redonda, Valencia, Spain. September 2002. There are 32 pictures, all taken with either an M6TTL or an M7, and all with 50mm. I discuss why I use only standard lenses, and refuse to crop, on the website for the book, so I won't go into it here, but please have a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. It's always good to get feedback! Cheers, Paul.
  13. Can I propose my own meager offering? Links below. All with Leica M's and 50s. Cheers, Paul.
  14. I reckon I'd miss it anyway if I didn't have the right lens, on a body with the right film, to hand instantly. Cheers. Paul.
  15. Don't have an M8 (what's the standard lens on an M8? About 35mm?) but I only ever use 50s on my film Ms. I can spend more time shooting and less time worry about gear. As icqcq says, the fewer decisions I have to make, the better. Of course I'm not saying everyone should work like this! Cheers, Paul.
  16. I don't know which model of M you're planning on using it with, if it's an M7 I'd recommend the Motor. A great gadget that doesn't weigh too much, is very quite and has a nice handle to hold on to. If it's an MP, or an older M, you can't go wrong with a 'vit - or maybe a Rapidwinder. Cheers, Paul.
  17. Lutz Konermann's been selling something remarkably like this for years. Get your STRAP for the Leica M! or www.leicagoodies.com Never used one but often been curious. Cheers, Paul
  18. John Vink of Magnum also uses an M8 on a daily basis. He often talks about it on Lightstalkers. Cheers, Paul.
  19. I endeavour to give satisfaction, sir.
  20. I had a problem like this years ago. I used to carry a small plastic box full of spare batteries with me, about six of them, taken out of their wrappings so as to fit in the box easily. When I came to use them they had all drained, as if they had drained each other by being in close proximity. Now I always carry my spares still in their wrapping, and haven't had a problem since. Cheers, P.
  21. I use the Billingham Hadley insert in a Hadley Pro. Offers good protection but is very tall. I store film in the bottom, then a horizontal divider, then cameras on top. If you have a game bag with the right dimensions it could be a good choice. Occasionally I carry Leicas in other bags and then I use these from Lowepro as they take an M with a 50 'lux attached, and will even take one with a Motor M too. Useful as they offer good protection and you can slip a camera in any bag any time. Cheers, Paul.
  22. Current inspiration: Josef Koudelka. Cheers, P.
  23. So Kodachrome is dying - so move on! It's not surprising, it represents an ancient business model. It doesn't mean the end of Kodak as a film manufacturer. Indeed Kodak is doing us film users proud, I'd say.
  24. I asked Kodak about Tri-X at Photokina. They pointed out that they only built a new factory for TX production a few years ago and that it's selling well. I fact the guy I spoke to said, even if Kodak cut right back on film, he'd put money on TX being the last film they make. Cheers, P.
  25. I know it's not a wrist strap, but I use these from Lutz Konermann instead. Work perfectly for me, and you can use a neck strap too. P.
