Hello, one shot taken in Portrait mode will blur around the central subject of the picture, like a wide opening (aperture priority mode but other setup for sure) Is there a way to find out what is applied on each mode? Some menu items are greyed out according to the mode. I'm suspicious that some image processing takes place also in the rendering of the image as the results are too good to be true. (see shot) or is it the stunning Q lens? Thanks for your feedback My daughter in Greece this summer Portrait mode

Hello, I’m not sure this is a bug or something I have been doing wrong with my q3 i’m trying to make a close up (but not macro) of an object in subdued light (dark interior). I’ve set ISO to 100 not auto, AF to Single Afs, multi view metering, no exposure compensation. Aperture and speed auto. Exposure preview set to PSAM When I press the shutter to get the focus, and the square brackets go green the exposure is spot on (no screen flash in the EVF) On the other hand if the focus fails (red) I get an exposure flash of +2 or +3 exp. The scene flashes once bright, but if I refocus correctly then all goes back to normal. have someone experienced something similar? many thanks

Hello, I’m a beginner with Leica system and new to this forum too. After spending a couple of days playing with the Leica Q3, I must say I’m quite baffled by its behavior. I come from film (Rolleiflex, Mamiya, Hasselblad) and been using digital cameras mainly Fuji Xpro-2 and Canon . This post raises questions and I’m probably doing something wrong so any help, advice or comments will be greatly appreciated. In full AUTO mode & auto ISO you can use the exposure compensation dial and correct the exposure. I need to press the button on the wheel to do so. I should be able to do this without having to press it. Is this done to avoid unintentional exposure modification (I must say the wheel is quite hard to move, so I don’t know why this is so) In MANUAL mode aperture ring and speed ring when I rotate aperture ring or speed ring, my exposure in the EVF is modified this is expected, the exposure compensation dial is useless here because you control exposure either with speed or diaphragm (photography 101 ) Now in Aperture priority, I was expecting to get exposure feedback in the EVF as I rotated the diaphragm ring, setting iso to 400 or 100 does not change EVF feedback. Something like a depth of field preview button. You close the diaphragm and less light comes in and I underexpose my shot. I understand that the aperture priority program will calculate the correct speed for the correct exposure. I press the shutter button it does not show either (this could help), but If I maintain the button pressed and I rotate the ring, the EVF starts flickering. Now, the exposure compensation works here too but I need to press it beforehand (like in full Auto) I was thinking to use the function button and program and exposure preview? I might be totally wrong about this, and the answer is probably use full manual to get control on exposure, without the exposure compensation dial. But I like to have the feel of the exposure change when modifying the diaphragm (along depth of field) Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide. Patrice.

Hello, I’m new to the forum and to Leica. recently acquired a q3. Trying to match Leica STD, VIV, NAT, CLS (LEICA CLASSIC LOOK), AND CONTEMPORARY jpeg styles to the dng output i must say that color rendition is excellent in NAT modes for painting reproduction, but I’m trying to match the jpeg from dng with capture one or getting close to it. It’s quite hard for a newbie (I might get close for one picture and if I apply to another image it might be totally off) does anyone can recommend some presets I can use to match the jpegs or steps to carry out from the dng under capture one? Thank you all!
