Type - Small digital fixed-lens camera.

Production era - February 2004-2006

Code numbers - 18255 EU, 18256 F/NL, 18257 SP/IT, 18258 UR/HK, 18259 AU

Lens - LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON 7-22.5 mm f/2.0-2.4 ASPH. zoom lens (corresponds to a 28-90 mm zoom lens for the 35 mm format), 13 lens elements in 10 groups.

Sensor - 2/3" CCD with 5.24 million total pixels and 5 million effective pixels, primary color filters.

Viewfinder - Electronic viewfinder with 235,000 pixels and diopter compensation (± 4 diopter), suitable for eyeglass wearers. Saved pictures can be viewed in the viewfinder(useful in extremely bright sunlight).

LCD Monitor - Trans-reflexive 2.5" color display with 211,000 pixels.

Aspect ratio - 4:3 (native), 16:9 (HDTV).

Image sizes - 4:3 format 2,560 x 1,920 > 2048 x 1536 > 1,600 x 1,200 > 1,280 x 960 > 640 x 480 pixels (320 x 240 for video sequences) 16:9 format 1920 x 1080 pixels (HDTV).

Zoom - Corresponds to a 28 > 90 mm zoom lens for the 35 mm format. Digital focal length extension 2x / 3x.

Modes - Program (P) with program shift ; Aperture priority (A) ; Shutter priority (T) ; Manual control (M), Black-and-white.

Exposure series - 2.7 or 1.0 exposures per second; maximum : 3–137 exposures with low/normal data compression.

Focus range - Close-up limit 30 cm (ca. 12 inches) and 15 cm with ELPRO-D E69.

Flash - Pop-up flash with a guide number of 10 (metric) or 33 (feet) ; Range : 4.5 m or 15 feet with the wide-angle setting and 4 m or 13 feet with the telephoto setting (all at ISO 100) ; Flash functions Automatic flash activation, flash ON, flash OFF, pre-flash for red-eye reduction, SLOW (for long shutter speeds, SLOW with synchronization at the end of the exposure ; Flash exposure compensation ±2 EV in 1/3 EV steps ; Flash shoe with contacts for the control of an external flash unit SCA 3202.

Storage - Secure Digital and MultiMedia-Card, limited to 2 GB (use Kingston 50x for 6 sec. RAW download).

Sensitivity setting - ISO 100 / 200 / 400.

Resolution - focusing magnifier for more precise manual focusing.

Metering - Multi-field, center-weighted, spot. Metering control Gentle pressure on the shutter release button stores the metered distance and exposure settings.

Exposure compensation - -2EV - +2EV with 1/3EV steps ; Bracketing 3 or 5 pictures.

White balance - Auto, manual, preset light conditions (daylight, overcast sky, incandescent light, flash) with fine adjustment capability (±1500 K max.).

Shutter - Release button ; gentle pressure on the shutter release button stores the metered distance and exposure settings ; optional remote cable shutter release CR-DC1.

Shutter speed range - 1/2000 < 8 seconds.

Exposure control - Program automatic, Aperture automatic, Time automatic and Manual setting ; metering TTL open aperture metering 49-zone (with optical viewfinder), 256-zone (in Live View mode) ; metered value storage AFL/AEL button or shutter button pressed halfway in AFS mode.

Self-timer - 10 sec. and 2 sec.

Continuous recording - Frame rate 3 or 2 i/s Exposure series 6 images (RAW), unlimited (other formats, depending on memory card, picture resolution, image compression, battery performance).

A-V recording - Video recording (max. 6 minutes on a 64 MB-Memory Card) ; sound recording is possible for every picture (during and after the exposure) ; trick film mode.

Ports - Digital USB 2.0 Hi-Speed, Video out Analog (video/TV) NTSC/PAL Composite (switchable)..

Imediate printing - PictBridge (print size, layout, date setting selectable).
