Our valued colleagues from PetaPixel found on Youtube a documentation from the year 1958 about the American photographer Ansel Adams. In the 20-minute contribute you get an insight into his working methods, his own interests, attitudes to art and his gigantic camera equipment.

You can accompany the photographer through the entire process of film photography from the precise measurement of light over the right shot to the processing of the photos in the darkroom.

If you have some time you should take a look!

About The Author

  1. Wow! A rare classic that is a must see for all photographers. Thank you for providing it.

  2. Thank you for that. It is a window into a bygone age of photography as practiced by a great master. His methods can teach us all to slow down and see and think, as opposed to the scatter shot approach many of us employ today because each shot is cheap. The slower methodical approach is more work but the potential rewards are much greater.

  3. Excellent, thank you.

  4. Mesmerizing! Thanks for sharing it with us.
