Advertisement Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Hi robert_parker, Take a look here Vanishing Pete. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jmr Posted May 13, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 13, 2008 Robert, crisp shot - I like the light and colour.
robert_parker Posted May 13, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted May 13, 2008 Glad you said crisp - thought I'd misread it for a moment !! Not sure that I've cropped quite enough from the top but I only had 1/500 of a second to take the image...
farnz Posted May 13, 2008 Share #4 Posted May 13, 2008 Cor, what a handsome model you had, Robert, and he must've been a fast mover if you only had 1/500th of a second to get the shot! It's an interesting shot because, as John says, it's a crisp shot, which is typical of the 28 Elmarit aspherical, but it also shows up the lens's high contrast that may not be to everyone's taste. Pete.
robert_parker Posted May 14, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted May 14, 2008 Yes - it's a little bit of Ansel Adams' black at the top it looks a bit darker now on my monitor than it did last night when I posted - still think I would've been better cropping about another centimetre from the top though.. robert_parker Posted May 14, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted May 14, 2008 but it also shows up the lens's high contrast that may not be to everyone's taste. Pete. that having been said some of the contrast may be down to me in post processing - but there is a fairly extreme tonal range going on there anyway
stuny Posted May 14, 2008 Share #7 Posted May 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Robert - Very nice light, venue, color and depth. It also will be helpful for those of us looking forward to sneaking up on Pete from behind, so we will sneak up on the right bloke. I suspect his wife would prefer that you shot him from the front. roguewave Posted May 14, 2008 Share #8 Posted May 14, 2008 Robert, well done. The light is outstanding. Pete, good form.
farnz Posted May 14, 2008 Share #9 Posted May 14, 2008 ... I suspect his (Pete's) wife would prefer that you shot him from the front. Perhaps, Stuart, but with live ammunition I suspect! Pete.

spylaw4 Posted May 15, 2008 Share #11 Posted May 15, 2008 Very nice shot Robert! IMHO you don't need to crop the top - as it is it adds to the sense of perspective as well as emphasising the contrast between the bright light through the arches vs. the deep shadow of the ceiling.
