Hi everyone,

I was an on-set photographer for a short film for the last 3 days and I just wanted to share some images. All shot with the M8 and 3 lenses 35 'cron, 50 'cron and CV 15.

did you use any sound dampening mechanisms like a blimp?

or was that not a big deal?

thanks

and nice frames!

That was my first thot: How did everyone react to the shutter sound? Maybe they're all used to the explosion that a Canon SLR makes and they didn't notice.

I've done this a few times myself and there is usually no shooting, talking or any other kind of noisemaking allowed while filming is taking place. Before filming begins, a guy (or woman) yells out, "Quiet on the set!" and he means business. You do all of the stills when there are breaks in the action. I used to occasionally get a shot off with an M6 without anyone noticing, but I'd never try that with a DSLR or the M8.

Don't want to stir, but what supposably so special about these stills?

I don't think I said that they were special. Just sharing some images from my first experience with the M8 on set. The End.

Can I see some of your very special photos????

I think you have a lot of work to bring all those pictures to a constant look.

The washout isn´t nice and the reflections in #3 and 4 are not nice, too.

Was it your first time as set-photographer?

Yes I do have a lot of work......

Isn't photography subjective?

The washed out look is my edit.

I Don't see any reflections, do you mean lens flare?

Yes, it was my first time as a set photographer.

You should deliver a series of pictures that matches the look the film will have when it´s finished.

If you deliver pictures with the look you want to have ("washout") all pictures should have this look, not only 50%.

The reflection/lens flare isn´t your fault. It´s the fault of LEICA, because you have to use those IR/UV-Filters with the M8 and M8.2. In picture 3 it´s a blue ball at the arm of the lady, in picture 4 two white flares at the lower right side.

It´s a shame that the M8.2 still needs those filters.
