I take some pictures by SUMMILUX-R 35mm F1.4 with OLYMPUS E-3.

Those pictures tacked at very dark bar inside, stop is open, object distance within 1m.

The important note is DOF. In this case DOF is 10mm, because four thirds DOF has double length from 35mm standard.

OLYMPUS E-3 has live-view, that is very fine work at dark place,

Those picture developed by OLYMPUS Studio2 Version2.11.

File size reduced by Photoshop CS2.

This thread is really interesting for me. I've been thinking over the last 2-3 months......

I want to buy only one Leica-R or Contax-Zeiss lens for my L1

Yesterday I came to the conclusion that the one lens I will concentrate on is the Summilux-R 35mm f1.4

So your examples have got my interest.

Can you post some more samples, outdoors, scenery, people etc.

Also do you have access to a Digilux 3 or L1 that you can also test with this Summilux-R...?

Are these photos also from you....? <http://www.calvadoshof.com/Digicame/LEICA035F14.html>

Thank you for your comment.

I think that Digilux-3 , L1 or OLYMPUS Body + LEICA R lens has good opportunity for manual focus pictures, because live-view. But I love LEICA DMR too :-)

It is grate choice. I have both, but I always use Summilux-R 35mm f1.4.

This Lens is very fine work.

I found your L1 photos <http://www.calvadoshof.com/Digicame/DMCL1.html> they are very sharp.

I also found your Summilux-R 50mm f1.4 photos <http://www.calvadoshof.com/Digicame/LEICA050F14.html>

Looks like the E3 has trouble with manual focus? or was there some blurring with slow shutter speeds?

Could you please try taking photos with both the 35mm and 50mm Summilux-R lenses on your L1. It will be interesting to see what you can do with these lenses on the L1.

I was in Tokyo in 2007 and had a great time using my L1 all around Shinjuku and all over Tokyo.

Here is one of my shots

It is simple, just slow shutter speeds :-)

Almost shutter speed is 1/4 to 1/8 , stop is open, with no tripod, Because dinking place, very dark and no light, and E-3 anti shake system do not work with Leica R lens.

The picture of 35mm F1.4 or 70-180 F2.8 use tripod.

Why I not use L1, it is simple, just Raw development software, as silkypic at Japan.

I feel this software result is deferent color in my feeling.

I have no knowledge about development software at out side of Japan, it is silkypics or adobe ?

Certainly, L1 has very nice auto focus, but do not work at dark place same as my picture points. This situation is no different all of camera. Therefore, manual focus is most impotent at dark place.

It is easy, use mount adapter.

I use CONTAX-FOUR THERDS mount adapter, made by Kindai International at Japan.

............. and E-3 anti shake system do not work with Leica R lens.

I use a 90mm Summicron R on my E-3 and the IS does work with it after entering the focal legnth in the IS menu. This was added in the updated firmware.

I enjoy your pictures.
